*Olivine's POV*
It was dinner time when we came inside from the outdoors. Papa made dinner but he didn't let Iggy near the kitchen. I still don't know why...
That night after everyone fell asleep, I started to color my picture. I was really happy when my drawing came true, it was sweet of them to do that.
Although everything is going well, I have a feeling that something is going to happen tomorrow. I'm not sure if it's a good or a bad thing, but I don't think that I'm ready for it. As I finished the base color for tonight, I turned off my lamp and put away my things. Then I plopped down in bed and closed my eyes.
~ Next morning: after breakfast ~
"No no no! I'm not going!" I protested with clenched fists.
"Olivine, I really think that it will be good for you to be around kids your age," Iggy reasoned calmly.
"I'm n-not used to b-being around that m-many people!" I stood my ground.
"The park will be fun! You'll meet new people and make some friends. It'll help you open up a little more too," he was very calm in my distress.
"But... but... kids are gross~!" I expressed in a pleading motion.
"You realize that, that's what you are, right?"
"Yes! B-But it's true!" I cried.
"No more excuses young lady, we're going to the park. Now go get dressed and wear some shoes," he instructed.
I sulked and headed up the stairs. I really didn't want to be with other kids.
I'm not used to being with kids my age! Actually, I don't think that I ever have been around other kids before. In my flashbacks, its just been Cody and I...
I dressed myself in light green shirt with a rainbow of flowers printed on it. The words on the front said, "The Earth Laughs In Flowers". I wore blue denim shorts and white and black Converse shoes. (Turns out Alfred bought them for me before he left to go home. I wonder how he knew my size...)
Lastly, I placed the rose hair clip that Papa gave me for Christmas in my hair. I took a deep breath before I dashed downstairs. I guess there's a first time for everything...
"Are you ready?" Iggy asked as he grabbed a light jacket.
"R-Ready as I'll e-ever be..." I sulked.
"Don't be so sad, it'll be fun, I promise," he tried to cheer me up.
"Okay..." I cracked a small smile.
And with that, we were out the door.
~ In the Car ~
"Olivine, I need to tell you some important things before we reach the park," Iggy said as he looked at me through the rearview mirror.
I looked out the window and sighed.
I'm really not looking forward to this Interacting with kids my age? But I've never... really made friends. I mean, from all the flashbacks, it's just been Cody and I. What if it stayed that way?
"First: Stranger Danger. Don't talk to strangers, even if they seem nice and want to give you candy. If someone approaches you, immediately come and find me," his words seemed distant to me.
I wonder why it was just me and Cody. I remember him saying that there were other people around. But we never saw them... well, I don't remember seeing them actually.
