On Friday the 13th, the day of unfortunate events, many places were either attacked or hit by an earthquake. All in the same day. I won't go into detail, but here is the gist of it.
(The anthem was written during the French Revolution for the army of Marseille, that's why it might seem a tad violent.)
Paris, France: Terrorist attack. At least 120 were killed, 100 were held hostage.
Japan: Earthquake. Magnitude of 7.0, struck off Japan's south-western coast, triggering a small tsunami.
Baghdad: Funeral Bombed. 19 people were killed.
Beirut: Suicide bombing. 43 were killed, at least 239 were wounded
Mexico: Earthquake. Magnitude of 4.3, no immediate reports of any injuries or damage.
Those are the places that I know that have been attacked in some way. I heard that more are in different or similar situations. Please, pray for these places. They need the love and support in this desperate time. I hope for all the innocent victims to rest in peace.
Never forget this date. They surely won't. In this world, all we have is each other. That is all we need to hold on.
America is here for you, France. We are here for all of the countries that struck devastation. Today we are one, today we are French.
