Kojiro and I were skating back from the comic book shop, bags around our shoulders. We skated through the streets and sidewalks. Cars honked at us but we kept going. The sky was getting greyer but I didn't notice it until droplets leaped from the sky. I felt a water drop on my cheek and wiped it, slowing down and looking up at the sky. Kojiro got ahead of me and stopped too.
" What?" He asked, looking at me.
" I think it's going to rain," I stated, looking at him.
" Oh," He said, adding a sad mood to his words. I could understand where he was coming from. Rain meant no more skating until it dried up.
" Come on," I urged, getting on my skateboard again and moving past him. He smiled and followed me on his own board. We continued skating until the rain really started. It was almost April so the rain was going to be pretty normal. I picked up my skateboard and Kojiro followed suit.
The rain was pouring now which meant the pour was going to be quick. It would still be moist and humid afterward though. I wiped the water from my eyes and smiled. I looked at Kojiro, his shirt sticking to his frame. He was smiling too. We found a forming puddle and I kicked through it. He shoved my shoulder with his own and I smiled, copying his action.
I do like the rain, I think I always will. I liked it when it was humid and the drops wouldn't be freezing. I spun around and lifted my face to the sky. My hair and clothes were drenched and stuck to my body but I didn't mind it. I laughed and I heard Kojiro laugh with me. I looked at him and smiled. I saw a slight red on his tan cheeks but didn't think much of it.
This life is so great.
