I enjoyed being at the cabin. It would probably always have a special place in my heart, considering the fact that it was the first place I told Kade I loved him. Or maybe I was just being overly sentimental. I didn't know.
Popping the last strawberry in the bowl inside my mouth, I glanced out the window down at the driveway, watching everybody as they loaded their things back into their cars. We were all a little bummed about having to leave early, but Eli more than anyone else. I bit the corner of my mouth to stop myself from laughing as he slammed his car door shut and glared at Nico, who said something that made Eli flip him off.
The guys decided that having a party right now wasn't smart, taking into consideration of everything that had happened, starting with Amo being killed. It wasn't safe. I didn't know ahout their change of plans until this morning, but I didn't put up a fight. They were right. After Kade was shot last night, I suddenly was looking at everything from a different perspective. I was always cautious and wary, but now I was that...only ten times worse.
The one skill I had always been able to grasp was being able to dissect and observe everything with pure logic. Having a party wasn't a good idea. Everything was too fresh right now. With so many people in one setting, anyone could easily sneak in and drug us all.
Eli knew that, too. He just wanted his party.
I turned around as the bedroom door opened up, and Kade stood in the threshold, fully dressed in black ripped jeans and a plain black tee with a pair of white air forces on his feet. He was wearing his silver chain around his neck and a Rolex strapped on his wrist, and there was a Nike hat covering his head, also black, that completed his outfit perfectly.
I blinked, looking down at myself. I was wearing a plain white tank top and low-rise ripped jeans with my fishnet stockings underneath, paired with a black leather jacket. "You out-dressed me." I said, licking my lip clean of fruit. His eyes followed the movement. "You look beautiful in black, baby." His lips curved into a sinful smirk.
My cheeks grew hot. "Thank you." I swept my tongue over my teeth. "We're going to come back here, right?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Yeah. Just not now." He averted his gaze and moved towards the bedside dresser, pulling open the first drawer and grabbing his gun. He must've put it in there last night. I watched him as he tucked the Glock under his waistband and then pulled his shirt down over it, his dark green eyes coming back to mine.
"Come on. I have to catch my girlfriend before she leaves." I said, heading towards the door.
He followed behind me. "Your girlfriend?" His voice was dry, and I almost laughed.
"Yeah, Dylan." I nodded, jogging down the stairs. Once I hit the landing, I went straight outside. Dove and Dylan were standing by Levi's Lamborghini, and the rest of the guys must've still been inside the house somewhere. "I'm telling you both right now, never get pregnant." Dylan said as I approached them, causing me to laugh.
