"You're pale

"You're pale." Dove commented from beside me. "And you need to eat something—"

"I will." I cut her off, glancing over at her. "I'll eat something when this is all over."

She released a sigh of irritation, but left it alone nonetheless. Her golden blonde hair was wrapped into a neat bun at the back of her head, and she was dressed in a mini black dress that was open near her mid section with a low cut neckline. Her makeup was light and simple as usual, but it wasn't as if she needed any anyways.

She was one of the most beautiful girls I knew.

She grabbed her clutch from off of the bed and rummaged through it until she pulled out a pink colored flask and unscrewed the top, tucking the handbag under her arm as she took a swig. I watched her through the mirror, an amused smile making it's way onto my lips as I applied a liberal coat of lipgloss.

Leave it to Dove to always have alcohol or drugs somewhere.

"What?" She snapped playfully, a raise to her eyebrow.

"Nothing." I laughed, glancing back into the mirror at myself. I was wearing one of Dove's dresses. It was held together by lace and the tight material curved over every muscle on my body. I was sure I was a size or two up compared to her. The middle strip was missing on this dress, displaying the edge of my abs. I could see why Dove was so worried. My lack of food intake was beginning to show.

"You ready?" Dove asked me, putting her flask away.

"Yeah." I nodded. "Where's Jersey?"

"She had to rush home for her nana. Nico drove her."

"He did?"

"Yeah, I offered to take her home but he said he would. Jersey didn't necessarily object so..."

I nodded, deciding not to think to hard into it. "Hopefully she got laid." Dove shrugged. "She definitely needs it." Grabbing my hand, she pulled me towards her. "Nico too."

Dove rubbed my cold arm just as the door opened and Spade entered the room. My mouth watered and I swear my jaw was somewhere scattered on the floor. I'd seen him dress up before, and he stole the breath straight from my lungs every single time. I let my eyes travel the length of him. He wore black slacks and a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up, displaying the tattoos.

"You okay?" He asked me. His eyes flew between Dove and I, and the former was completely silent as she gaped at him, squeezing my hand tightly. I nodded. He looked at Dove again, his eyes cold and empty. "Are you ever going to leave her side? Do I have to worry about this stupid bond you two have?"

Dove tore her eyes away from him and straightened, a coy smile playing on her lips as she looked at me, then back at him. "No to the first question, and probably to the second. Sam and I are a package deal." She shrugged, and I realized that that was probably the first time she'd ever spoken a word to him. "I'll be downstairs." She gave my hand one last squeeze before she exited the room, leaving just Spade and I.
