elina spat blood onto the ground. she watched in disgust and fear as the pool of blood on the floor increased in volume, making elina feel light-headed. she couldn't distinguish whether the dizziness came from the blood loss or the amount of thoughts that were running through her head.

all she could think about was the obvious threat that drago had raised towards hiccup, and her mind couldn't think objectively anymore. elina would rather make hiccup hate her than make hiccup die because of her, and elina knew the decision she would be making already.

elina willed for her wounds to close, because although she knew that drago wouldn't make her bleed to death, the lack of blood was still making her dizzy and her skin was burning in pain. elina didn't even want to look at her skin because the bruises and scars just reminded her of drago and how everyone would realize how pathetic and how weak she was.

she could hear crashing and burning outside, and elina briefly wondered how everyone was. if drago would do this to his own daughter, how else would he plan on hurting everyone else? elina internally shook her head (she didn't have the willpower to physically do so). if she just agreed to make everyone hate her, then everyone would be safe.

drago walked in. elina immediately shot a glare at him, but realized it was the wrong move once he gripped her wrist tightly, making more blood gush out of the open wound. elina cried out in pain, making drago drop her wrist from his now blood-stained hand.

elina didn't speak, but she sent as much hatred as she could without giving him a reason to suspect her. "so, daughter of mine, have you made your decision yet?"

she had to restrain herself from spitting in his eye.

"yes," she said through gritted teeth. drago held his hand to her neck and choked her against the walls, causing her wrists to scream as the metal constraints caused the friction between her wrists to increase.

"do not believe that i do not notice your ungrateful attitude," drago snarled at her. elina only blinked as her heart raced with hatred. "one wrong move and i'll make your little boyfriend bleed in front of you."

"no!" elina interrupted, then her face paled even more as drago gave her a smirk. drago neared her. "what did i say about interrupting?"

elina's face hardened into stone as drago left more scars and bruises onto her already weakened body, and the only reassurance elina could give to herself was the boy with brown hair and green eyes and the two dragons that she dearly loved.

elina didn't like to consider herself as 'self-sacrificial'. but elina think that her recent actions have proven her otherwise; going from nearly drowning herself now to getting tortured just so berk could be relieved from her father's wrath.

bile rose to her throat as the word 'father' made her insides churn. elina hadn't eaten for the whole day, having left the sanctuary before she could eat her share of the meal, and elina was certain that drago was not going to give her any food as well.

"you may speak," drago ordered elina. elina pasted a fakely smile on her face, saying, "i agree to the terms, father. i will carry out what you command me to do."

"good girl," drago said, as if the praise would make elina feel any better. it just made elina feel worse because she hated drago, she hated drago, she hated drago so much. "now, you will say to hiccup haddock that you only made him fall in love with you, that you did not mean anything that happened for the past few years. it was merely a plot to weaken him and berk so i could infiltrate their defenses, understood?"

elina felt her heart break into one million pieces at his words. "but why? what are you trying to achieve by doing so?"

drago simply laughed, sharpening his hook against the metal bars of the cell. elina felt like an animal. "oh, elina, elina. what if i just wanted you to tell that to the boy so he would be more prone to weaknesses in a fight? what if i just wanted you to lose motivation for all you live for, and the first step to doing that is to get rid of your boy?

"well, he isn't going to be yours for any longer," drago continued, as if mocking elina. elina struggled against the chains like a shackled dog. "when will you understand that love is a weakness that others can just exploit, like i did?"

"well, you certainly didn't think that when you met my mom," elina spat at him, unable to contain her words. elina didn't think that she would be able to even feel pain anymore, so she might as well make the most out of it. and that was what really turned drago from madman to monster, because drago immediately turned to her and landed a harsh strike on her shoulder.

elina felt her shoulder dislocate, and she whimpered in pain. a red bruise was already starting to form. "your mother was a weak, pathetic girl, just like you. you remind me of my biggest mistake, so after you are no use to me, i plan on getting rid of you too. this way, i will have no weaknesses.

"and remember, one more word out of line, and hiccup haddock will die."

drago turned his heel and left, slamming the door behind him. he left elina to prepare herself for the revelation that she was going to die at her father's hands. elina closed her eyes as she imagined hiccup's face of betrayal when she would ultimately backstab him.

"gods, i'm sorry, hiccup."

elina could've sworn she heard someone whisper, i'm sorry, elina, too.
