Evelyn Smith and Ryan Henderson never really meant to cross paths that day, November 7th, 1983 at school.
Ryan was considered a weirdo by Steve Harrington and his friends while Evelyn was a cheerleader and she was also a theater kid so it isn't that surprising that her only friend was Nancy Wheeler, who just happened to be dating Steve Harrington.
