The team is returning in about two weeks so I try to make a plan where I don't have to interact with Steve, Bucky, Dot, or Michelle and that's the good thing because the help from F.R.I.D.A.Y. It is easy. Other than that it didn't even matter because I either spent my entire time in the lab or office working trying to do anything that required work or I was in my room just staring at my ceiling just thinking about every detail of my relationship with my bo-.
Well they aren't my boys anymore and they made sure of that the moment that they accused me of those accusations and didn't believe me for no reason. These two weeks didn't even feel like two but it felt like years but I was glad that the team was back because I finally will have someone to talk to and to help me get out of my misery even if I don't want to. When the team was back they all went to their rooms to relax and get some needed rest since it had been a hard and long mission for them.
I didn't notice that I fell asleep last night since I have been having trouble sleeping for the last couple weeks and it would take me up to some hours to actually fall asleep. I look over my shoulder to see that it's pretty early for what I usually have been waking up for so why not get up and make some breakfast for the team and make some of their favorite breakfast food.
I head down to the kitchen to start but once I start cooking I don't let anything distract me because I try to make as much as I can before they all start to wake up since we all have an inner alarm clock that wakes us up even if we are tired from missions. I was putting some water in for coffee and tea since half of the team drank coffee while the other half drank tea when I heard footsteps coming from the hallway and when I turned to see who it was, it was Steve.
I stood there frozen not knowing what would happen or could happen because I haven't talked or seen him since it feels awkward just being in the same place together and no one else around it just makes there more tension.
Without giving it a second thought I give him the most awkward smile that I can create and just turn back to cooking before anything comes out of Steve's mouth.
A bit more time had passed before the team started to come down to eat and the last two people that came to sit down in the kitchen were Steve and Bucky. There were only four spots open, two of them were next to me and the others were next to Dot and Michelle, so they took the one that was farther to me, causing the team to suspect something would happen when they were gone since they had seen the boys more distant from me.
After a while the team all decided to do stuff on their own to have a break from each other but Nat and Clint decided that they were going to stay behind to clean, allowing me to go to the lab and not worry about the mess.
I had to keep working because I know that not only the Professor was counting on me to be able to help him deal with the US government since over giving them a harder time. On one side of my lab there is a large window where I'm looking up at the sky enjoying the view and zoned out that I didn't notice the knocking at my door,
10 minutes earlier
Third POV
The team was in the common room after deciding that they wanted to do a game night until F.R.I.D.A.Y. interrupted them.
'Sir?' F.R.I.D.A.Y. asked Tony.
" What is it F.R.I.D.A.Y.?"
' It looks like there is an invited guest coming and they are coming to this level.' F.R.I.D.A.Y. says to them causing them to all stop playing and pay attention to what the AI has to say.
