Three Months Later
Steve and I thought it would have been hard for the both of us to adjust to having Enzo at the house but no it felt very domestic which both of us loved. If Steve is busy I usually take Enzo over to Laura's house so he can socialize with baby Nate as well even though both of them are just 6 months apart but it doesn't make it less cute than it is.
Right now I'm packing up the kitchen and cleaning up as I go because I knew once Enzo woke up I wouldn't be able to get this stuff cleaned and ready to go for when we move next week. While Steve right now is helping to disassemble some furniture that we are taking that I told both Wanda and Nat not to buy while the other things Steve is putting a cloth on top.
Throughout the 3 months since Enzo has been bored I have taken him to go meet his other family and weirdly enough he likes the company of his grumpy uncle Logan and scary-looking Erik. It made us all laugh how they both said that children usually find them scary but nope he enjoyed being near them or being cared for by them. I knew that both of them were trying to act like they are these big and scary people but I knew that they aren't actually like that, Erik because he already had a daughter but lost her and his wife. While Logan, I have seen him with some of the kids at the school and it's like he lets go of his scary lumberjack persona to become this very caring person.
When I first did visit them I was scared that Scott would be mad at me that I didn't tell him that I was pregnant until I brought Enzo to meet him and that I moved on from Alex too fast. But in reality, he was happy for me because just like his brother he knew that Alex was the love of my life but he wasn't my soulmate(s).
They both shed a few tears but that wasn't the point because of the deal. A promise? Whatever you want to call it for me to bring Enzo whenever I can or for me not to shut up Scott and the X-men because no matter what we both are part of their family.
And since then I have been keeping up my promise to Scott last week while Steve, Scott, Charles, Logan, Erik, and Hank were outside talking, we girls were inside preparing the food and talking but as we were doing that Enzo was bouncing between the two groups enjoying the attention.
Next Week
Today is the day that we all move back into the compound which seems fun and tiring mostly with a baby but Pepper and Morgan are coming to take Enzo. While Steve and I finish putting the boxes into the truck and driving back to the compound where some of the avengers are going to help unpack and bring our stuff to our floor.
I was going around the house making sure that everything was locked and that everything was covered in a sheet knowing that it might be a while before we came back here.
" Are you reminiscing, honey?" Steve asked me as he hugs me from behind and whispered in my ear.
I roll my eyes at him even though he can't see and tell him, " no I'm not reminiscing or getting sad but I am triple checking that everything is nice and locked or covered." I tell him but just hums at me
They both locked up the door and headed to the truck to start our journey to the Compound knowing that it might take a while for us because Steve likes to drive like an old lady. I did threaten Steve to drive faster if not he's sleeping in his old room once we get to the compound he thinks I'm bluffing but I'm not.
The closer we got to the Compound the more I got nervous and I'm not sure if it was because of the three annoying musketeers or if - I don't even know. I think that Steve noticed because he started to distract me but it kinda worked but not so he pulled over to get some food since both of us are hungry. When we were finished I grabbed the keys before he can and told him that I was driving and there is nothing that he can do about it.
When we reached the compound my dad, Thor, and Clint were already waiting for us since F.R.I.D.A.Y. told dad who then told the others. " Hi honey, how are you been?"
" I have been good and baby Enzo is growing faster than I thought he would be but it's okay," I tell them
"When can we meet this baby Enzo?" Clint asked pointing between himself and Thor.
"Well not right not because he is with his grandmother and little auntie being entertained so we could put everything away and not have to worry about him. But he should be here around 5 or 6 since we have to do his nighttime routine before he goes to sleep."
"They do grow up fast but they will always need their parents in one way or the other. Also, you don't have to worry about us meeting him tonight because we can always meet him tomorrow." Clint tells me.
" Who is Enzo?" Thor asked while both Clint and Tony looked at him
"Enzo is Y/n and Alex's baby, who is 3 almost 4 months," Clint tells Thor
"Oh well congratulation Lady Y/n"
My dad brought the attention to himself letting us know that we should start to move everything upstairs before everyone comes back from the mission it's still a big mess and that's what we did. Clint, my dad, and I were moving the lighter stuff while Steve and Thor moved the heavier items
When everything finished being up upstairs the guys went to order some food and go relax in the common room waiting for the others while I put everything away knowing that the guys would do terrible trouble. I was almost done when Pepper came to drop off Enzo where I did almost his entire nighttime routine except reading a book because Steve usually does that and he usually falses asleep so quickly but with me it;'s another story.
I let Steve talk to the others knowing it has been a long day for him and he hasn't talked to the others in a long time since they were busy or he was busy back at the farmhouse. Once the baby is put down head downstairs getting nervous because it might get a bit heck time but at the same time I knew that the team hasn't arrived yet so I'm in the clear for now.
Even though the farmhouse and the mansion always felt like home but the compound has been my first home and the others have been my home away from home. I'm glad that I'm back because I'm tired of not seeing people that I loved seeing every day or pranking others knowing how their reactions are funny. Or even having my girl night with the girls and even the times when Pietro would join us because he was bored or he didn't want to go out with the guys.
An idea came to head, so I started to laugh at the thought which caused Steve to look at me so I told him, " You know how Pietro likes to join girl's night? Well when he doesn't want to go out or is bored, he could just be easily our babysitter."
"That seems like a great idea but do we trust him with a baby when he, himself acts like a middle school boy?"
"Good point. We will tell F.R.I.D.A.Y. to look after Pietro," He just laughs at my idea
" I would prefer to leave him with Scott who acts more mature than Pietro"
"That does sound good because even if he does something stupid I know that Jean, Erik, or Charles would scold him like a little child if he did something stupid." That made Steve laugh even more knowing that would most likely happen.
