Chapter 41

I finally got to my room so I quickly took a shower and did most of my makeup before heading towards the room Pepper used for the night. I was surprised to see that we were already up and out of the shower as well.

" Did you sleep well last night?"

" I am actually surprised that I slept well but it doesn't look like that to you. What happened sweetheart?"

"Um so please don't hate me but I might have played with one of my gadgets and it made a scary boom that hit us so I couldn't sleep all night because I felt hot." I give her my best smile to soften the blow but it seems like it doesn't help.

"Oh lord. You starks and your gadgets." She says as she looks down and shakes her head disappointed. " Did you badly hurt?" before I could reply to her she smacks me in the arm, "how could you be this dumb, you couldn't you wait for someone to be there just in case. Don't get me wrong I am thankful that you are fine, come here", she then hugs me and I hug her back.

"Before we move your stuff to the bridal room, I was wondering if I could start calling you mom privately like I do to dad. You seem over the 3 years that I have been here you have been a mother figure that I really didn't have while I was growing up and you were always there for me one thing or another. I do understand if you feel uncomfortable or don't want me too or if you even say it's fine."

"Oh honey I'm okay with you calling mom because we both know that you know who your real mom is even if you didn't have a good relationship with her. I don't care if you call me mom or Pepper because we both know how I feel about you and your father and how you two will be my family now no matter what happens."

I hugged but I didn't notice that we were crying or that we had an audience either until I heard someone clear their throat, Pepper turned around and we both saw Wanda also in tears from the heart to heart moment that Pepper and I had.

Time Skip

All the girls got ready and dressed in a room that was close to where the ceremony and the reception will be since they decided to have it on the Avenger side of the Compound where it had a pretty view of the sunset. Everyone went to their spots since the bridal party wasn't that big and it was just me and dad's groomsmen was just Rhodey.

As I was standing and looking at Pepper and Tony getting married I could see that they have so much love for each that made me want to have someone to look at me like that.

We are nearing the part that the officiant says if someone wants to object so it's dead silent until the doors open up and both Pietro and Alex open up the glass door that makes so much noise that everyone turns their heads to look who is coming out. Everyone on the team gives both of them a "are you serious look" for deciding to open up that door knowing it makes noise.

While both of them were making the best puppy look that they could make to try to soften their consequences but me on the other hand couldn't stop giggling because this is something that one of them or both of them would do by accident.

The officiant kept going with the ceremony and both Pepper and Tony were finally married so everyone can go where the small reception is going to be held that was like 200 feet away. Everyone was enjoying the music, the food, and each other's company which was great because everything is going well and nothing seems to go bad for this special day.

It was nearing the time where we do speeches but I started to feel overwhelmingly hot again like I did all night. I tried to push it away and grab iced water to try to cool down while I listened to Rhodey's speech. At this point I already had like 5 glasses of iced water when Rhodey's speech was over and I was going to get up. I felt like someone was looking at me but I saw Alex giving me a considerate look because he knows that I don't drink a lot of water so quickly but rather slowly.
