The next few minutes were total chaotic. Blake's expression was unreadable which made Lilly panic. At the same moment, Hannah appeared at the buffet area with Arthur and made her way towards one of the tables with the cookies, totally ignoring the vibe between Blake and Lilly.
On the other hand, Julian made his way towards Lilly once he saw her paled face. Blake left for his room not a minute later because if he stayed one more minute with her, he was afraid he might cry.
"Hey, are you okay?" Julian cupped Lilly's face in both his hands and she briefly wondered why such an amazing guy wanted to be with her.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine." She nodded vigorously to make him as well as herself believe the lie.
"I've been enough around girls to know that whenever they say they're fine, it's usually a lie. But okay, whenever you're ready to talk remember I'm here for you."
Lilly's knees became weak and she was almost on the verge of falling.
"I GOT IT!" Hannah screamed suddenly and the couple looked at her who was running maniacally outside now, Arthur behind her.
After a moment they both burst out laughing and Julian kissed Lilly's cheek in between, making her push him away so that he couldn't see the very visible flustered state she was in.
"How- the paper says 'What kind of bars won't keep a prisoner in jail?'" Manon frowned while fanning the small piece of paper she and Charles found in a fortune cookie around her.
Julian smirked and took Lilly's hand abruptly, motioning her to follow him. They swiftly made their way towards the rooftop bar where four pinatas were hung.
Arthur picked up a hammer from the ground, preparing himself to destroy a pinata and Hannah stood behind him cheering and screaming encouragements.
"This is almost over now," Julian bumped his shoulder with Lilly's who was able to gave him only a half-hearted smile. Physically she was present there, but mentally her mind was wandering different places as though it couldn't decide which destination should it reach.
Her mind couldn't forget Blake's expression.
"Yessss!" Hannah screamed once again before reading out loud the last clue, "Return to where it all started!"
Just then Manon and Charles reached the rooftop bar and their eyes widened once they saw Han and Arthur rushing downstairs leaving behind a trail of broken feathers from the pinata.
The pair made their way towards one of the pinatas while Lilly and Julian went downstairs.
Back in the lounge the hotel staff had decorated the place and Julian picked up a party popper to celebrate with Han. Not even a minute later, those two started dancing like idiots and Lilly smiled at the scene.
"WE'VE A WINNER!" Julian whooped once everybody gathered in the lounge- except Blake.
Lilly felt a ting of guilt.
As though reading her mind Han asked, "Where's Blake?"
"I'll go and see," Lilly answered almost immediately and left without waiting for a response.
BACK TO LILLY'S POV
"Blake please!" I whined while knocking constantly on his room's door.
Finally, after ages he opened the door and I released a sigh of relief, walking inside the dark room. Once I shut the door, I switched on the lights and a scream left my mouth after seeing Blake's bloodshot eyes and puffy cheeks.
"Oh my God! Wha-" He cut me off by hugging me tightly and started sobbing in the crook of my neck.
"Blake don't cry please," I patted his back my own eyes welling up with tears.
"You're dying Lilly," he said in a muffled voice.
"Stop Blake- this is exactly why I wasn't telling anyone." He let go of me and I looked him dead in the eye.
Before he could reply, sound of footsteps approaching and voices of chatting came from outside. Not even a minute later, the door opened with Han and Julian making their way inside. Their conversation died the moment they noticed the scene before them and stood frozen.
I pressed my forehead on a nearby wall muttering to myself, "Baise ma vie."
Fuck my life.
