"...Et c'est la fin de notre réunion d'aujourd'hui. N'oubliez pas le gala ce soir de l'agence Dove et soyez là à l'heure. Merci à tous."

...And that's the end of our meeting today. Don't forget the gala tonight of the Dove Agency and be there on time. Thank-you all.

A chorus of grunts and agreements rang in the conference room. At the end of every month, our company has a meeting with our CEO and manager (our boss) with the head of every department and of course, the HR to discuss everything important that had happened in the month and our future plans.

I didn't really like to socialise with my other colleagues except for work related stuff but being a director of one of the most important departments gave me the responsibility of attending all the galas and parties hosted by other companies.

After picking up my stuff I left the room and went towards the elevator. I clicked the button for top floor, standing there waiting to hear the ding of the elevator when I heard Julian calling me from behind.

He was by my side just as the elevator arrived and we entered in sync after the people inside- some staring on their mobiles, some talking to clients and some reading files- left in a rush.

I raised an eyebrow at his panting form beside me and asked once the doors of the lift closed, "For a person who works out on daily basis and has those muscles, you sure hyperventilate easily."

"For your information...running is not...my best forte," He wheezed in between.

I shrugged, "Whatever floats your boat."

He gave me a stink eye which made me smirk at him and we left the elevator once the doors to our floor opened.

"Sooo..." I looked at him with questioning eyes once we got settled on our desks, "You wanted to tell me something back there?" I pointed a finger behind me.

Realisation flickered across his face, "Yeah, I wanted to tell you something extremely important."

The emphasis on his words made me frown, "Then tell me whatever it is."

He motioned a finger towards me, "Come closer."

I leaned forward and rested my arms on the desk. He followed the same stance, making our noses almost press together.

"Tell me now." I don't know why I whispered my next words.

He widened his eyes a bit, "It's extremely important for you to know that..."

My patience was running out, "That?"

"That I love you." He kissed my cheek and went back to working on his laptop almost instantly.

"Wha- I-" I spluttered, "That didn't even make sense!"

He replied without stopping typing on his laptop, "Because it's the language of love, mon amour. Which you're going to learn soon." He winked at the end of his sentence.

I huffed under my breath. He and his stupid love language, though I can't deny and say it wasn't working on me.

I looked over my reflection for once last time, admiring the simple yet elegant straight black tube dress with a slit on my left thigh. I opted for my new Saint Laurent black pumps and a pearl necklace around my neck screaming royalty with a few silver rings adorning my slender fingers.

For makeup, I kept it light except for the black bold eyeliner on my eyelids and a bright red shade of lipstick. My hair was styled in beach waves making my face look sharp and beautiful at the same time. I truly felt what I looked like.

The doorbell rang just before I sprayed some Christian Dior perfume on me, picked up my black clutch with my mobile, keys and lipstick inside it and made my way towards the apartment door.

I flicked the lights off just as I closed the door before locking it. I whirled around and took a sharp inhale when I saw Julian standing before me in all his handsome glory.

He wore a white dress shirt with cufflinks, black trousers and matching suit jacket on top finishing his look with a Tommy Hilfiger watch on his wrist and black leather shoes.

He reeked of money, desire and something addictive.

The situation with him was as similar as mine. His gaze becoming intense as he took in my outfit, his pupils darkening and lingering for longer at some specific areas before roaming around me once more.

The tension could practically be seen between us.

We both cleared our throats before he presented me his arm, "Shall we, m'lady?"

I smiled at him and tucked my arm firmly around his, "We shall."

We swiftly made our way together towards the elevator and down where he parked his car in complete silence, our bodies still tensed from ogling each other. He opened the door for me once we reached his Mercedes.

I carefully placed my clutch on my lap and fixed my hair a bit after I sat comfortably, "Merci."

But Julian didn't close the door and made his way towards the other side. Instead, he placed a hand on top of the car, his face inching closer to mine when I felt his scent engulfing my senses.

His Adam's apple bobbed, "Have I told you how bewitching you're looking tonight?"

I swallowed, my eyes shutting automatically when he pressed a tender kiss on my jaw before whispering in a huskier voice, "Belle comm le diable," against my skin.

Beautiful like the devil.

I took in a shaky breath before our eyes met once again and he stood slowly, never breaking our eye contact. He shut the door finally and went towards the other side of the car.

The night hadn't even started yet.
