JULIAN'S POV
My hands encircled her waist from behind, my lips peppering tiny kisses along the column of her neck all the while her laugh echoed in the room.
God, I loved her laugh.
Lilly looked up at me smiling from where she stood in front of the floor to roof window, "You're awfully quite touchy today. Usually that happens when you're nervous so what's up in your little mischievous mind?"
A huge grin spread on my face despite my inner anxiousness. My gaze travelled across her face, taking in each tiny freckle and line. And those eyes.
The fucking blue of those eyes could bring me on my knees at any point of time. Which was kind of what I was planning to do at any given moment.
Cupping her cheek lightly, instead of answering I kissed her slowly. Hearing her gasp, my other arm pressed her even more tightly against me.
"I love this place so much," she said. A sigh of content escaped her as she stood against my bare chest. In front of us was a dreamy sight to behold, the mountains of Faroe Islands half covered in fog and around it lay so much greenery. Grass and flowers and sticks; a lost spring in winter.
My arms slowly let go of her waist as she started speaking once more still looking outside, "I'm so glad we decided to come here. And-"
Not hearing the rest of her sentence, I hesitantly took my position. My hands automatically went to pocket of my sweatpants and with shaky hands, I took out the small velvet box.
Lilly turned and her face morphed into that of confusion before she took in the sight of me lying on my knees before her with a ring in my hand.
She inhaled sharply and I chuckled with nervousness, "Lilly, mon amour."
Lilly, my love.
I laughed again at her widened eyes, an inner turmoil going inside me but I ignored it and continued, "No, I did not prepare a speech," she laughed and rolled her eyes. Her brown locks which once reached her back now barely reached her collarbones but I loved them nonetheless.
I smiled cheekily, "I think I wasn't meant to born in this world if it were not for you. All I want to say is, you've been the one, you're the one and you'll be the one always in this or any other goddamn universe. Thankyou, for tolerating my stupid antics, thankyou for listening to me when I need it, thankyou for never letting me feel alone. Thankyou for being with me, through thick and thin." I could feel myself choking on tears, her own eyes filled with tears.
But I wasn't done yet. And so, I kept speaking, "I'm sorry for all the times you've been hurt by me. I'm sorry I can be a jerk at times but trust me, Noodle, I'll never fucking ever hurt you intentionally. What we have is deeper than just love, it's like our souls are made of the same ether. Like a taut bond, what we have is unbreakable."
By now tears were streaming down on both of our cheeks, "And lastly, I'm so fucking proud of you Lilly. For going through so much; the cancer, the treatment, the emotional baggage and whatnot. You're so fucking strong and I'm so happy to call you mine."
I smiled at her once more, all the nervousness forgotten as I spoke the words, "Will you marry me?"
She fell on her knees, hands cupping my face as she sobbed happily, "Yes, yes, yes. A thousand times yes. In every universe it would be a yes."
I put the ruby ring on her finger and not even a second later her lips captured mine, whispering in between the kisses, "Je t'aime, je t'aime, je t'aime."
I love you, I love you, I love you.
Our foreheads met and as I stared in those blue eyes of hers, I said what could've been the truest words ever left my mouth.
"Je t'aime dans chaque vie."
I love you in every life.

THIRD PERSON POV
Deep in the mountains, a few feet away from an old cottage stood a man in black tux. The currents of the river moved with the breeze that mussed up his blonde hair time-to-time, the tiny flowers on the grass moving rhythmically along with it as well just like fingers playing a piano. Above him, white clouds gathered in the sky mixing with the fog covering the black mountains, the scene looking like a humble abode.
Soon, a woman came out of the small cottage. The skirts of her white gown bellowed as she walked on the grass with no veil covering her face for, she wanted to be as raw with him as possible. Her face with the hugest of smiles and her hair blowing in all directions, she still never stopped looking at him.
In the whisper of a day, they stood in front of each other and vowed to never let go of what they had. Hand in hand, repeating every word that came out of the priest's mouth, they promised to always love and cherish each other's souls.
And then he kissed his bride, sealing the oath they made in the depths of the chilly winter.
"I just realised something..." Lilly whispered to her husband.
Julian wiped the single tear that escaped her eye, "What?"
His wife chuckled, "We just eloped."
And soon he joined in with her laughter, realising they came to fulfil a dream unknowingly and would continue to do so till death pulled them apart.
But even God knew that even in death, they would still hold onto each other.
