Today was the big day we all have been waiting for.
The day Hannah and Blake were getting married.
"How's my favourite bride doing?" The door to our room opened and inside came Julian whistling a melodic tune freezing instantly once he saw a very nonchalant Han and me sitting on armchairs with our outfits and makeup done, reading magazines and eating fruits.
Han looked up at Julian's voice and raised a perfectly manicured eyebrow, "Tell me Julie, how many favourite brides do you have?"
He squinted his eyes at her, "None. Aren't you supposed to be anxious and shit, overthinking everything from your cousin's mom's shoe to your almost husband abandoning the wedding?"
I hollered, "Damn."
"For your information, there's this thing called trust in a relationship. And the main reason I'm not- okay he's not listening anymore." She rolled her eyes.
As soon as Julian heard my voice, he looked my way and slowly his eyes raked over my lavender satin dress held by two thin straps at my shoulders, my face with minimal yet aesthetic makeup and my hair updo which ended up with a few petals of jasmine in it.
Hannah cleared her throat pointedly, "You do know that it's my wedding. don't you?"
"Shh," he raised a pointed finger at her behind him before making his way towards me.
He himself looked like a hot piece of meat, in all his muscular self in a black tuxedo and a tie which I might add was crooked. His shaggy blonde hair was styled for once neatly never mind the fact that he looked hot even without the style. Overall, he looked, pretty formal yet handsome.
I raised from my chair once he stood in front of me. We just stood there for a brief moment looking at each other before Julian lightly grazed his fingers on my left cheek and pecked me on the forehead, "Tu es comme un rêve devenu réalité."
You look like a dream come true.
I shuddered and felt legit goosebumps on my skin when he encircled his arms around my waist, holding me tight in his embrace and I placed my arms around his neck, smiling softly at him.
Han cleared her throat again, "I just remembered I've to walk my fish. Be right back." She winked at me behind Julian's back before sauntering away towards the bathroom and closing the door.
"I feel bad," I mumbled instantly and shook my head at her antics.
I explained at his frowning expression, "It's her wedding day! I think she should be our priority right now. We can do our gushy-mushy stuff later, after the wedding. Let's call her back."
Julian's eyebrows rose and he took my hands in his, "O-kay. But before that I need you to know -scratch that- I need you to embedded this in your mind that no matter what, I will be with you on every step in the future and we'll climb the ladder together.
"I love you as you are and sure we'll have bad days too but on the bright side I'll get to be with you. And that's enough, okay? So don't overthink about anything, Noodle." He kissed my forehead once more then backed away as if he didn't leave me completely speechless and stunned by this revelation.
He winked at me once he reached the door and called out, "And for the record, I know your ear is pressed against the door Hannah!"
With that he left the room and almost instantaneously a squealing Hannah came out from the washroom. She made her way towards me and hugged me so hard, shocking me with the amount of energy that woman had.
She held onto my shoulders, "Holy fucking shit, that guy is the epitome of what every woman wishes in her other half! I'm so fucking happy you for you. I love you so bad and you deserve this happiness, Lilly."
