"What's going on? Blake why are you crying?!" Hannah rushed past me and cupped his face when he tried to hide it.

"Noodle, what's happening?" Julian tried to be nonchalant but the tightness in his smile and the fear in his eyes gave him away.

I raked my hand through my hair, messing it up and made my way towards the bed to sit down and think.

"Lilly what the hell is going on? You and Blake are freaking me out, please explain!" Han motioned between us, asking with wide eyes.

This was getting out of hand.

I hid my face behind both my hands and closed my eyes. All the while, those two kept asking questions on questions to which Blake tried to calm them down.

I didn't think hiding would be an option anymore. Nor would be lying.

"Why do you have three bruises coming up on both of your arms?"

"Tripped on air this morning because of lack of sleep."

"You didn't come to office since past two days."

"As you can see, I am sick."

"Can you tone it down? I told you I'm having a headache."

"Why did you go to a doctor yesterday?"

"I- it was just a health checkup to ensure I was fine because I fell ill last week."

"I know you're hiding something from us Lilly. I can see it in your eyes. These past few weeks you've had a hooded look haunting your eyes."

"I couldn't help but notice a few bruises here and there on your arms and legs last night."

I fucking did everything I could to hide what I was suffering from especially because these past few weeks were about Blake and Han. About them and their marriage. I didn't want to dampen the happiness that everyone had but I did even though it was unintentional.

I was the worst best friend anyone could have.

Julian didn't deserve this. I kept disagreeing for a relationship with him not because of him but because of me. I know how it felt like to lose someone you love specifically through cancer out of all the things.

That is why I remained in denial for so long. I did not want Julian to get hurt because it was not easy for me to move on. Hell, I hadn't moved on fully from my mother's death yet imagine what he'd suffer from.

"Can you all shut up?!" I yelled once it became too much to think and listen their questions simultaneously.

Instantly the voices died down turning into pin drop silence.

My heart was beating erratically and I decided enough was enough. Till when would I stay in my cage? Someday I needed to be free so that I could fly.

You're being selfish. What about their wedding?

A voice whispered in my mind.

Two paths were before me. And both would cause pain to me and my loved ones because it was inevitable.

Keep lying or rip off the truth like a band-aid?

Tread carefully, Lilly...

I ignored the voice again and chose the latter.

"I can't do this anymore. You all deserve to know the truth and I don't know how you'll react. And that scares me the most along with many, many other things. But a truth can't be hidden for long."

My vision became blurry and Julian took a step towards me but I raised a hand to stop him.

"You're scaring me." Han's lower lip trembled and Blake wrapped an arm around her even though he was on the verge of tears himself.

I took a sharp inhale, "Please just don't hate me. I love you all so much that it hurts. Just remember that I did not want any of this shit to happen. I never wanted to ruin this trip. I never wanted to ruin your wedding. In fact, I wanted total opposite of this because you all deserve the world. But life can be cruel at times."

It was final; I was doing this now or never.

And so, I raised my head staring at nothing and whispered.

"I have leukemia."
