This morning, I missed the rising sun,
Its ray no longer chased the darkness away,
Instead, a gradient of cotton candy
Sweetened the morning sky.
A different kind of hope—
Gentle dreams and trivial worries
Melted together in pinks, blues, yellows,
Atop the fourth floor, a level higher than I have ever gone,
I waited for you, I'll always wait,
As long as we're alive, we can keep dreaming,
With the hope and belief you gave me,
I descended the stairs, back to normal blue skies,
But with newfound courage in my heart.
