This morning, I missed the rising sun,

Its ray no longer chased the darkness away,

Instead, a gradient of cotton candy

Sweetened the morning sky.

A different kind of hope—

Gentle dreams and trivial worries

Melted together in pinks, blues, yellows,

Atop the fourth floor, a level higher than I have ever gone,

I waited for you, I'll always wait,

As long as we're alive, we can keep dreaming,

With the hope and belief you gave me,

I descended the stairs, back to normal blue skies,

But with newfound courage in my heart.
