The more time we spend apart,
The closer we seem to get,
Like a flying sports ball,
Finally making it to the net,
Or a stretched rubber band
Snapping back together,
And a kite leaping into the sky,
Its string bold against the weather.
This time has made me realize,
How important you are to me,
If someone knew me without you,
Then would they really know me?
Because, really—
You're the catch to my throw,
I'm the swing to your pitch,
You're the vocals to my notes,
And I'm the assurance if you miss,
Like yin and yang,
We compliment each other:
From eldest and youngest,
To sister and brother,
So I'm glad I get to experience the world with you,
And I'll support you in whatever you choose to do.
