"If life is not the pursuit of happiness, then
What is it?"
You ask me this question often, yet never have
You defined your own answer.
I wish I could share with you
What life means to me—
What is the meaning behind
These lines of poetry?
My car's music didn't work this morning,
Yet the heart's song still rang true,
I sat on ones and zeros alone,
Till blessed with a message from you,
Though the path's filled with strangers,
Chance bid us to meet,
Familiar friends, new faces,
Forever—these memories we'll keep,
Whatever life gives us, whatever it will be
—Happiness and joy or sorrows and pain—
As along as you're with me.

Was it ever, I could ask?
It's simple beauty to exist alongside another
However long that may last.
