When you present your feelings,

And they're disregarded coldly,

Walked away from, ignored,

Not given a second thought,

Laughed at, or mocked,

You too, would lock them away,

In a tower up high or

A tunnel down low,

Where nobody could find them.

But humans are silly creatures,

Trying the same key again,

Even if it couldn't open the lock before,

Because it's the only key we have.

So when I spoke to you,

Eyes closed so I could not see

Whether you'd roll your eyes at me,

Or turn away like the rest,

Waiting in the darkness for the

Sounds of your step fading away,

A never ending silence because

You stayed.

You stayed

You really stayed.

And

The key turned in my chest and

The feelings I'd kept inside

Welled up as tears in my eyes,

And I cried and cried,

Yet still you stayed by my side.

This moment may not last forever,

But forever, really, thank you.
