If I could ask for one thing, it would be that you don't forget—that you never forget—that it wouldn't be possible for you to forget me.

If I could be selfish,
I'd want you to think of me and remember:

Remember it was me that greeted you in the mornings,
It was me that walked with you through the halls,
It was me you worked with on our science projects,
Me that you spent your lunches with,
Me whom you went ice skating with,
Me who held your hand so you wouldn't slip,
And me who giggled and teased you when you did slip, but offered my hand to you anyways.
It was me that you messaged late at night,
Me who stayed up with you, listened to you, cried with you,
It was me who comforted you, me who cared for you,
Me who wanted you to realize you were beautiful,
No matter what the world tried to make you believe.

It could have been anyone else in those moments,
It could have been anyone else in those memories,
It's possible we could have never been friends,
It's possible we could have never met one another,
In the vast galaxy of stars, a vast population of people,

But it was me.

And it was you.

And it doesn't matter what could have been, who could have been.
Because it was me that loved you in those moments,

And if I could ask for one thing, it's that
You never forget, please never forget—

It was me that loved you.
