Chapter 1

I felt a scream erupt from my throat as I watched him fall to the ground, groaning in unbearable pain.

My knees felt like twigs, threatening to break  any moment.

"Sorella, Run!" He replied, his brown eyes piercing my hazel ones. I knew I had to but I couldn't.

I shook my head violently, my heart refusing to accept the sight in front of me.

He turned his head up, gaze fixing on to the person behind me, as his tunic began to soak with blood.

"Amore, take her. Take her and run! It's not safe here" I felt a hand grasp my forearm tightly.

I screamed, tears flowing down my face as I was pulled in the opposite direction. "No no Please! No!" I shouted trying to pry away and run back to him.

I turned around to look at the woman who was pulling me away.

Grief was evident in her face, her auburn hair sticking to her forehead. She was gritting her teeth, barely holding the tears that were threatening to fall.

I felt a sharp pain erupt in my spine as I crumbled to the floor tripping over my long silk chiton, the jewelry I wore rattling against each other. I looked down to see an arrow sprouting from my chest as a silver liquid dripped from it.

The woman turned to me, a horrified look on her face."Alessa! No, no, don't go! Please!"

My eyes shot open.

I looked at my surroundings as I felt my hands touch something hard. I looked to my left to see a small silver notebook with a pencil.

I grabbed it and turned to a new page, making sure to mark the date.

Man: brown eyes, dark hair and a bloodied tunic.

Woman: auburn hair, green eyes, chiton.

I scribbled down everything I remembered from my nightmare.

It was the tenth time I saw the nightmare and every time I woke up my body would feel like I ran a marathon. It was always the same people occupying my dreams. A red haired woman and a dark haired man. I've been trying to identify them better but was alway failing at it.

Every time it was the same scene repeating over and over again. It was weird, considering the fact I rarely saw a nightmare.

For it to occur ten times in a row, there had to be something wrong with me, maybe I should talk to someone?

Hi! I'm Alessandra sirenville and I'm 16 years old.

Now don't expect me to be that normal girl you were hoping to see cause in my eyes this life is definitely abnormal.

My mom's a high school music teacher and my dad's a pilot.

Dad's usually away half every month so even if I miss him when he's not around he makes up for it by staying home the other half.

Do I have a boyfriend? Meh, that's the least of my concern at this point. My grades are much more important than some random jock.

I heard my mother's voice from downstairs. "Alessa! Wake up! Today's your school field trip!" I heard her call out.

I sighed and got out of bed.

I didn't really wanna go to school today. There are days that school sounds like a paradise compared to anywhere else. Then there are days like this; where you're too tired to get out of bed and just wanna skip school altogether. But I couldn't. I didn't wanna miss this assignment and lower my GPA.
