We stumbled through the doors of the hospital. It wasn't the same hospital that I had initially admitted my mom into.

Arav had mentioned that this place was run by well trained Nagas.

Even after having a long nap during the flight I was still feeling weak with all the blood loss.

Arav quickly walked over to the reception desk, asking for directions to our parents' rooms. Ramon held onto me helping me walk. As we walked through the hallway,

I felt two nurses come and take my arms, asking Ramon to let go. He obliged as I saw two other nurses do the same with Lana.

When they tried to lead us down a different hallway I started to protest, wanting to see my mother.

Arav turned to us.

"They'll be fine, I'll come and get you two when they wake up, for now I need you two to get checked up. Don't worry, the doctors here can be trusted." He assured me.

I still wanted to resist but I understood what he meant.

Lana was wincing while breathing as the nurses led us the other way.

After a quick checkup the doctor assured me that I was just tired with all the action and the blood loss. Lana had cracked a few ribs with her crashing onto a tree earlier, which the doctor just treated her with some mild painkillers.

Some other nurses came in asking to take a vial of my blood, saying that it was for our parents to which I obliged.

Once we were left alone, I lay on the couch, closing my eyes as Lana took a seat on the hospital bed, taking out her phone.

A chuckle from Lana made me crack open my eyes to see what she was laughing at. My bestie was staring at her phone, laughing to herself.

"What?" I asked, slightly amused.

"Tristian asked me out... four days ago. And then he rambled on and on about how he'd call it a date if I was okay with it and.. yeah, pretty much sums up the texts." I shot up, looking over her shoulder at the phone.

"Tristan as in Tristan Rodriguez? Like the guy from Biology?"

"Yup."

"Are you gonna consider it?" I asked with a smirk.

"I dunno, maybe, maybe not. He's pretty nice. But I guess the first on our agenda should be to come up with an excuse in case others notice our absence. In this case, Tristan." I nodded, taking out my phone.

I hadn't been able to check any of the messages earlier.

Messages from chess club, debate, media club... I ignored them all, scrolling down. It was then that I noticed the date. I let out a laugh.

Lana turned to me questioningly.

"School starts tomorrow. Just two weeks but it felt like months." I replied. She nodded.

Our heads snapped up as we heard the door open, Arav walking in, Ramon behind him.

Taking two chairs, they sat down, turning to us. The murderous look Ramon had earlier was gone, replaced by a more calm look, the tension between him and Arav dispersing slowly.

"Your parents are currently in stable condition, they'll wake up soon."

We all spent a few moments in silence, lost in our thoughts.

"So... how are you alive, they brought you back from the dead?" Lana broke the silence, turning to Arav.

"Not quite. They say I was about to die, but the healers managed to keep me alive." Arav explained.
