"Hey, you didn't come for breakfast today, your aunt told me to bring this to you..." I replied a little awkwardly as Arav opened the door to his suite.
"Right, thank you, I am sorry about that, I guess I just lost track of time," he replied, taking the breakfast tray from my hands, opening the door wider, allowing me entry.
"Come in," He simply replied, making me step into the suite.
Sparring a glance at the two intimidating Nāga guards next to the door, I slowly closed the door behind me.
The place was simply lit, oil lamps and torches everywhere.
I noticed that the suite was divided into separate rooms.
The room that I had stepped into was the lounge area and an entrance to my right seemed to lead to Arav's bedroom.
Leaving the breakfast tray on a nearby coffee table, Arav led me through a door to the left, which by the looks of it was the study.
The walls were lined with cupboards stacked up with books, scriptures, scrolls and various artifacts.
In the middle of the space was a large round table surrounded with six chairs. There was an oil lamp in the middle of it shedding light to the scriptures and books around it.
Walking over to the table I picked up one of the many scrolls that lay on the table.
Inspecting it I realized it was the scroll that I'd seen earlier.
The one with the humanoid bird creature.
The Garuda.
I looked under the picture to notice writing.
The only thing was that it was another language.
One I didn't recognize.
"What is this language?"
"It's Sanskrit," Arav answered, heaving a sigh, sitting on one of the chairs as he motioned me to do the same.
As I sat down I looked around the table to see it stacked with books, papyrus, parchment, and even rocks that were carved with writing.
A bottle of ink stood to the side with a feather quill and a piece of parchment.
"Were you up all night with all this?" I asked, slightly concerned.
"Yeah."
"Nāga or Human I'm pretty sure that's not good for your health, no wonder your aunt was worried."
"I am fine, I do not need much rest. I can not rest. Not until I have figured this thing out," he gestured to one of the scrolls.
"Maybe I can help." I suggested.
"No I do not think so, not unless you know the ancient languages."
"I know Kaliméra and Zdravstvuy," I replied letting out a sheepish smile,
"So do I, but this. Well, this is composed of many languages. It's written in Greek, Tamil, Hebrew, Basque, Lithuanian, Latin, Sanskrit, Hanzi and even Hieroglyphics in some places."
"Do you even understand these languages? Do people even speak these languages anymore, I know I don't."
"Well some of them are dead languages as you know, but I do understand it."
I felt my eyebrows raise in surprise.
"You speak 'all' this?"
Arav looked at me with a raised eyebrow, a tiny smile on his lips.
