"So... what was his name again?" Lana asked as we walked down the pavement, heading back home after school.
"Arav," I said with a sigh.
"So you want me to let this Arav guy come to the tunnels? Are you sure you can trust him?" Lana questioned.
"Yeah, he might know something about the tunnels. He knows a lot about this stuff" I said.
"So, what else can I know about this mysterious acquaintance you speak of?" Lana asked, while raising an eyebrow.
I sighed in frustration as I began explaining.
"Probably one of the most annoying people you'll ever meet and he pops out of nowhere at random times"
"What does he look like?" Lana asked, as a breeze touched our faces.
"An 20 year old with brown hair and black eyes"
"Any further description?"
"Um.. no, I was more concerned about how much time it will take me to blow steam from my ears rather than looking at what he looked like." Lana chuckled, "So like you" she muttered.
I rolled my eyes.
"Okay."
My head snapped to look at Lana.
"Okay?" I asked.
"He can come, I'd like to meet this mysterious person who has successfully caught my sister's eye. A task that none of the boys in our school seem to be capable of. I'm curious" Lana replied with a teasing smile.
"Ha ha. Tease all you want but there's nothing between us." I said, rolling my eyes as she smirked.
I paused in front of a small convenience store. It was one of the few shops in the area.
There were more closer to our school but this was the closest to our house.
Turning to Lana I asked, "I need to buy some stuff, wanna join, it'll be quick?"
"Nah, I'll stay outside, say hi to Mr Miller from me will ya?" She asked, referring to the old man who ran the store.
"Sure" I replied walking in.
Paying for the stuff I needed, I bid farewell to Mr Miller, walking out to the tranquil streets.
I frowned.
"Lana?" I called out, unable to find her near.
She couldn't have possibly left, I just took a few minutes.
Abandoning the grocery bags near the door of the store I took out my phone, walking a little further to see if she was around. I dialed her as I walked a little further from the store.
A familiar ringtone hit my ears as I rushed over, following the sound of Lana's phone.
After a few steps I was led to a dark alley where Lana's phone was on the ground. Picking it up I looked up to see Lana standing near, her arms raised in a defensive position.
"Your facade does not fool me, as long as I'm alive I would never let her get hurt. Beware Ciatore, take one move and I'll destroy your whole bloodline." A male voice came out of the other end of the alley, tone laced with venom and threats.
Though it was probably a stupid thing to do, I stepped into the alley, standing next to Lana.
My eyes widened to see a gun being pointed at her.
Following Lana's line of sight, I looked at the person on the other end of the alley. My phone nearly slipped out of my hand as I gawked at the man.
"Call for help and you'll have a bullet through your head in seconds" his tone was threatening, his not even flickering to look at me.
