I heard someone knock at the door making me slightly jump from my place on the couch.

"I'll get it!" I shouted out to dad who was in the kitchen, preparing dinner. My hands felt sweaty as I walked to the front door. For a moment I considered turning away and ignoring the people at the door who I knew were here for Lana and I.

Ignoring my internal turmoil I walked over to the front of the house.

Pursing my lips to a thin line, I opened the door to come face to face with Arav and Ramon.

I saw a woman behind them. She seemed to be around her early twenties.

Her silky blonde hair was tied onto a messy bun, framing her obsidian eyes. She wore a patterned blouse and blue jeans. She pretty much looked like a beauty Queen, minus the crown and the ball gown of course.

"Long time no see sis," Ramon replied teasingly, his grin making him look like the Cheshire Cat from Alice in wonderland.

"We literally saw you two a weeks ago," I heard a voice behind me as I rolled my eyes at Ramon's comment.

I looked behind me to see Lana standing there, arms crossed with a grim expression on her face.

With both her parents at the hospital Lana had been living with dad and I for the past few weeks.

Lana's parents had requested that Lana stay with us rather than being alone at home. With the recent incidents I was not surprised to see Lana agree instantly.

Over the past few days we had planned and packed everything to go on the mission.

"Alessandra, Atalanta, please, meet Léna, she is what you humans call a Coronelle Lisse, " Arav replied, introducing us to the woman. Great, another snake.

"Hi, nice to meet you Alessandra, I am honored to meet the Silverblood," she shook my hand shaking it. I let out a forced smile, feeling my nerves get the best of me as time ticked.

Then she turned to Lana.

Léna seemed to be a bit hesitant but shook her hand anyway

"Nice to meet you, Miss Ciatore," she said, smiling warmly. Lana seemed to be slightly weirded out but kept the emotion off her face.

"So, this is it then," I asked, looking at Arav. He let out a curt nod.

"Alessa, Lana, Dinner's ready!" Dad's voice rang through the house. "Oh okay!" I answered, turning back to the door.

"He's in the kitchen" Lana told Léna, in a grim tone.

She walked inside, leaving the four of us standing near the door.

"Ready?" Ramon asked.

"Hmm," I replied, deep in my thoughts. Was I making the correct decision?

I sighed, turning around and went upstairs to my room, grabbing the backpacks that Lana and I had prepared.

This is it, no turning back now.

I walked out of the room, two backpacks in hand.

Walking down I noticed that Léna was back, leaning on the doorway.

"It's done," she replied, looking at me, her face shadowed with a hint of exhaustion.

Arav had proposed on using compulsion on dad so that he won't worry much.

Until a week ago I didn't even know that compulsion was possible but now standing in the doorway, thinking about the strange things that happened in the last few weeks, compulsion was probably the most normal thing here. At this point the easter bunny carrying a sword wouldn't have surprised me.

I just really wished I could tell dad about all this, but I couldn't. I don't want him fearing for my life until I return or putting him or mom in danger. The stress he had now worrying about mom was enough in itself adding more to it would be a recipe for disaster. For all I knew this could be a suicide mission. Hopefully not.

"Thank you Léna," Arav thanked her

"You're Welcome, just, be safe. All of you," Léna replied, turning around walking out of the door.

She turned around making eye contact with me.

"I trust you four, please get rid of this, I have heard how bad it was last time, don't let history repeat itself," She said almost pleadingly.

I nodded.

She smiled and turned around walking out of the driveway, disappearing behind some bushes.

"Ready to go?" Ramon asked as Lana and I nodded.

"Okay then, come on," Ramon replied walking over to a Black Ferrari parked across the street.

Lana gasped.

"We're going in that!? You've got to be kidding me! How in the world did you even afford that!?"
