FENRYS POV

I sat up slowly on the couch I had gotten a few days ago. She was still sound asleep in bed. She was doing so much better though, it was noticeable. The color was back in her skin, she was a bit more full and she was seeming a bit more comfortable, more and more everyday. She hasn't left my room though, she's scared and when I say she's scared, I mean she's scared of every little thing right now; loud noises, sudden noises, yelling, when the door swings open too fast... it's a long list. I'm just doing my best to make her comfortable, I know she's been feeling a bit more relaxed but I don't ever want to assume.

The house was silent, no one was here. I headed downstairs to find a small note on the table telling me the girls went to town and Cade & Cyprus went to the cemetery. I walked to the fridge where I pulled out the eggs and from the freezer I pulled the bacon. I started to make her some breakfast as I started the coffee and when it was done I put it all on a plate and headed back upstairs. I slowly opened the door and walked over to her, setting the plate of food on the nightstand.

I gently set my hand on her arm, stroking her softly, "hey you, Caitlyn, I made you some breakfast."

Her eyes opened up slowly and she moved her other arm to touch my hand, "goodmorning." It's the first morning she hasn't jumped or been startled by my voice.

"Goodmorning," I smiled as I adjusted, "here, I made ya some breakfast."

"It smells good," she sat up slowly, "thank you." I picked it up and set it on her lap.

"How are you feeling?" I asked.

"Better," she nodded, "a lot better than normal actually. I uh- I was wondering if I could uhm- t-take a shower?"

"You don't have to ask," I chuckled while shaking my head, "you can do whatever you want. You're no prisoner here. You want to go outside and do anything today?" Her eyes darted to the window as she looked out.

Immediately she started to shake her head, "no- no I think I'm okay in here."

"I'll protect you," I nodded. It slipped right from my mouth, I didn't think before speaking. I know I shouldn't flirt with her. She looked at me for a few seconds before our contact broke and it turned to slight awkwardness. "I-I'm sorry," I shook my head as I wiped my eyes and chuckled nervously.

"No no don't be," she shook her head, "really, it's-it's okay. M-maybe we do." I looked up at her and saw the small smile on her face. I felt a warmness in my chest, all I wanted to do was kiss her but I know I can't.

"Go ahead and finish eating," I smiled, "take your shower and call me back up whenever you want me up here."

"Then just stay here," she looked into my eyes, "p-please?"

I couldn't help but smile, "of course." I leaned back in the chair as she ate and afterwards she walked into the bathroom and shut the door behind her. I sat back and listened to the water hitting her and the ground. I could hear her humming, like she's singing a song and really.. even thought it's just her humming it sounded like magic in my ears. It was beautiful, calming and I found myself only being pulled to her more.

I turned to look outside, looking over the melting snow as the sun reflected against it. I stood and stretched, walking to the window and opening it up. The cool breeze hit my face and I watched as the birds flew from tree to tree. After a few more minutes the water turned off and I heard the curtain pull back in the bathroom. It wasn't long after that she walked out and what a sight she was...

Her hair was wet and slicked back. She had on an oversized t-shirt, it was one of mine, I recognized it. She had a pair of sweat pants on and I could smell the soap on her hair and skin. The sun was shining through the window, hitting her brown eyes and making them an amber color.
