ZERO POV
Carrie and Harry were outside, a group of vampires and witches stood around them. I stood on a large pile of wood, pinned tightly to a wooden pole. I can't move my legs and I can barely rattle my body. My hands are tied above my head and I've been here for days, weeks now. I have blisters from the sun now and my skin is no longer a normal color. It's turning grey. I'm starving, my body is aching constantly and my throat is so dry it feels like shards of glass.
They all stood around me, throwing stones. Some big, some small. Some were flat, rounded and easy on the skin as long as it was thrown softly but some of them I swear were sharpened on purpose. Some stuck in my skin and others ripped it open. Carrie finally walked forward, having everyone stop and go back to their lives. Just like that they all listened. She's got quite the army now.
She didn't say anything to me, just looked at me and walked away. Hours passed and nightfall came. Twigs broke in the woods behind me and that's when I saw her.
Lilly.
"L-Lilly?" I asked painfully, "is-is-is that yo-you?" She didn't say anything. She just walked up to me and pulled a note from her pocket. I continued to ask what was wrong, what was going on.. begging her to help me down but she just wouldn't. She held the note to my face so I could read it.
Zero, you cause too many problems. You are always messing things up and never just listening. I'm better off without you, I know that now and it's something I should've known all along. I didn't mean to waste your time but really I wasted my own. Please don't contact me again, you're dead to me. Good luck. -L
I looked back at her with tears in my eyes but she was gone and the note was falling to the ground.
I shot up, gasping for air and wiping my face. Tears gathered in my eyes. It's a sign, it has to be a sign. She knows where I am... she does, but she's not coming. I-I'm dead to her. No way it was just a dream. A couple days have gone by I think. I don't really know how long it's been now. I stopped trying to keep count. I've had this headache now for days it feels like and it's by no means going away. I finished the deck, poured concrete and even stained the damn deck for her. They throw parties upstairs, Harry and his friends and my sister. The stench of blood wavers down here often, it drives me crazy. They had one last night, the house rattled from the speakers booming. The house reeked of booze and blood. I could hear some girls screaming upstairs. Sounded like a hell of a time, one hell of a rager.
"Wakey wakey!" Carries voice rang in my ears. Annoying.
"Get out of here Carrie," I mumbled, "I don't care."
"Oh we have stuff to do today," she walked to the door and dropped the bottle in, "so get up and put this on." She set the bracelet around the metal bar and took a couple steps back, "well come on! What are you waiting for?"
"I'm done, Carrie," I shook my head, "just- just kill me alright? I'm not your slave. I'm not going to do everything you say. I'm not going to take orders from your fucking boyfriend anymore. I-" Suddenly a sharp pain swallowed my body and it felt like my organs were exploding, like my brain was stroking out. I grabbed at my skull as I dropped to the ground and started to scream out in pain. When it finally stopped all I could do was cry. I couldn't help it, the tears... they just keep coming and coming.
"Get up," she glared, "lets go. We have shit to do." I heard her walk away and I slowly gathered myself, sitting up against the rocky wall I closed my eyes and took deep breaths.
I looked around hoping for some sort of hole to form in the wall but I could try and get out of here but it's no use. There's no getting out. I grabbed the bracelet and slid it onto my wrist and then watched it seal shut around me. I let out a sigh as I grabbed the bottle and twisted the cap, taking a long drink but still trying to savor it. I'm just so hungry, this could be gone in seconds if I had more.
