LILLY POV

I woke up to the sun shining in my eyes. I feel better, a lot better. I rolled over slowly to wrap my arms around Zero but he wasn't there. I sat up quickly and looked around the room, "Zero?" I stood up and walked into the bathroom. Not there.

"What the hell is wrong with you!" I heard a faint yell from outside. I threw back the curtains and looked through the slats. Zero was outside, crouched in front of Carrie. I felt the air leave my lungs and I took off downstairs.

Cyprus was sitting on the couch, "he's fine, leave him alone."

"What the hell are you trying to prove Cyprus?" I stopped and glared at him, "what is it?"

"Why does it matter?" he sat forward and twisted his body to face me, "you like her or something?"

"That is not the point," I snapped before going to the door and walking outside.

"You went to far!" he yelled.

"Get out of my face!" Carrie screamed at him, "you're nothing! You're just a waste of sp-" I watched him reach down and rip the necklace from her neck. She gasped.

I watched him drop it onto the ground beside her, "who's the waste now?" I walked towards them and he spun around. "Lilly! I-I-" I held my hand up a bit and he quit talking.

"Carrie," I kneeled in front of her, "I think you might've sealed your fate now. Ya know? I was willing to work it out but your broth- oh, I'm sorry, Zero thinks otherwise."

"Give me back my necklace," she scowled.

"Oh," I laughed, "sorry, didn't realize you were in the position to bark out orders. Why Flint?"

She rolled her eyes, "why does it matter? He's dead, you guys won."

"What did he want?" I pressured.

"Why would I tell you anything?" she laughed, "I mean look at me. Chained up like-like an animal. I can't-"

"Look at what you did!" I yelled, "you almost got us severely hurt! You attacked us! Now, why Flint!"

"Fuck you!" she spit. In a split second Zero grabbed her from the tree and took off with her. I went after him.

"You don't get to disrespect her like that!" Zero slammed her into a tree trunk, holding her by her throat, "you don't get to disrespect me anymore either so I'm getting some answers. Do you understand me?!" She was coughing, grabbing at his hands. "Why did you come back!" he yelled, "they told you to stay away! Why couldn't you listen? They gave you a chance! You could've gone anywhere else!" He let her go and she collapsed to the ground, grabbing at her chest. "Answer me Carrie!" he screamed.

I've never seen him so angry. I'm not sure he knows I'm watching from a distance.

"God you are crazy!" she yelled out still hacking, "dad was right. He was always right about you." I could feel the anger boiling inside of me just hearing her.

"This isn't about dad!" he shouted, "this is about YOU coming back HERE when you should have STAYED AWAY! You have wreaked havoc on me my entire life!"

"On you?!" she tried to stand up and he pushed her back up against the tree, "what about the time we went to the Quarter and you murdered every witch in sight? Huh?? You remember why you did it? Because me and the witches were practicing magic-"

"You called that practicing magic?!" he yelled louder, "you and your friends were using me as target practice! I told you to stop! I begged all of you and none of you listened! You laughed! Another vampire came in first, that's the only reason I was able to even get up and move! I killed a single witch that night! ONE!"
