Aether's P.O.V

"How dare you?!"

"Sustainer of the Heavenly Principles"

"I won't force you but you can tell me anything"

"Lumine!"

       I sat up straight with bit of sweat rolling down my face. "Had a nightmare too?" Lumine asked. "Yeah" I said. "Same here" she shrugged. We just sat there in silence and I took notice that it was sunrise. "Let's get ready for school" I stood up and left. After we got ready and ate breakfast, we left our home and went to our school. "What's your nightmare about?" Lumine asked while looking up the sky. "A girl with (h/c) was talking to me and I felt that she's really important" I said. "What about you?" I asked. "I was with a big guy that is floating beside me and a (h/c) girl was there with you standing infront of me with a shadow cast over her face" she said.

     We arrived at the university and met up with our friends. The atmosphere around our group was gloomy except for Y/N, she's looking at us with a suspicious gaze. "Okay I can't handle this" she said and went infront of us. "Why are ya'll gloomy anyways?" She pouted. We didn't answer her question and she relaxed herself. "You guys can tell me anything you know?" She said. "Nightmare" Xiangling answered. "So what's you guys nightmare?" She titled her hand but her hands are still on her hip. "Sorry I can't tell you" Amber said. We heard a thud and looked at the direction of the noise to see Xiao standing and gritting his teeth.

      He walked up to Y/N and sobbed quietly. "Uh okay" she awkwardly just stood there and hugged Xiao back. It's a bit surprising to see Xiao crying and hugging someone because he's always cold and distant to people except for us. Next time I'll protect you     . A voice said but it was mine. Who am I going to protect? What's happening? When I looked at Y/N, the girl in my dream resembled her but as if like she's holding me in her arms while I'm crying instead of Xiao right now.

Xiao's P.O.V

      This nightmare is killing me, I hate this. Suddenly my brain went black and it started playing a memory that I don't have.

      I was eating the Almond Tofu that she cooked before she left to go training. "Xiao" I hear call me so I immediately went to her. "What do you need? Are you in trouble?" I asked and it doesn't seem like there's nothing wrong, I glared at her. "I just like your company what's your problem? Stop glaring at me geez" she pouted. It's adorable to see but I shook my head. "Don't call me when your not in trouble" I sternly said to her. She whined but agreed.

Even though I told her to not call me when she's not in trouble but she kept doing it and making random excuse that's when I had enough. "The next time you call me, I'm not gonna come to you" I intensely glared at her. "Fine then, go. Just do what you were doing last time" she walked away. I was killing hillichurls and I didn't here a single call from her.

"XIAO!" I heard her call me but I won't fall for her calls right now. "Xiao!" Her calls were still ringing until few minutes later I didn't here her call so that's when I went to her. When I opened my eyes, I saw her laying down on her own blood, I ran to her and hugged her. I felt guilt and I've known her training for a while now why didn't I appear when she called me. She's still trying to summon her scythe, I felt something drop and I touched my cheek, I was crying.

Someone came and it looks like they want to take her away. I pointed my spear towards them. "GET AWAY! I WON'T LET YOU TAKE HER!" I shouted at them when someone held my arms letting me go of (Y/N), I struggled getting out of their grip and the other person took her away. This person let me go and I looked at that person, it was Rex Lapis. I lowered my head and I felt his hand on my head.

"Don't worry Xiao, they're gonna heal her" he said. "Am I... gonna see her again?" I asked still feeling guilty and disappointed at myself. "We don't know, time will tell but one day maybe you two will meet again" he reassured and gave me an embrace, I jst hugged back.

    I felt my tears fall and I immediately wiped it away. I stood up and about to leave. "Now you know, protect her if I'm not there" that was my last words before I left.

       I punched the table and made the people with me look at me. I walked to her new self and hugged her while I cried in her arms and she tried calming me down.

Aether's P.O.V

     When Xiao stopped crying, he looked at Y/N longingly as if they were apart for a long time. "Xiao?" She called. "Please call out my name again" he pressed his forehead to hers. "Is it okay?" She asked. I saw a red tint on her cheeks and I felt a bit sad. "Please" he said softly to her. We watched their interaction with curious and jealous gaze. Xiao was a bit close and this is not like Xiao. "Xiao" she called. Xiao smiled while a tear drop fell down his cheeks. I pulled my phone out and took a picture of Xiao smiling, it's a rare moment so need to save it even though I'm jealous right now.

     "Just call out my name and I'll be there" he said at her. "Okay then" she replied. He was about to kiss her when I interven to his plan putting my left hand infront of him while my right hand is on Y/N's shoulder.
