childhood friends (john)

you grew up being best friends with john's first son, julian lennon. the two of you were inseparable. you both were so inseparable that you even went to prom together. you glanced at julian as he sat across from you with love in your eyes as he glanced back at you,

"ready (y/n)?" he asked as you shook your mind free of the racy thoughts that were brewing.

"y-yeah jules." you beamed grabbing his hand.

the date was december 7, 1980 and the two of you were scheduled to meet up with julian's dad, john before julian was scheduled to go on tour.

you both loaded the car with your luggage before heading over to the airport, "i can't believe we're going to see your father! i'm so excited." you grinned while julian smiled,

"yeah me too. i can see step mom and sean too." he smiled as you nodded.

you both arrived in new york city just a bit past 4 pm as you both knocked on the apartment door of his dakota apartment. he opened the door stunned to see the two of you, mainly julian.

"dad!" he grinned as john smiled,

"hey son. hello (y/n), how are you both?" he asked moving aside to let you in.

"we've been good dad. we're actually expecting." julian beamed while he grasped your hand,

"yeah it's been a while but a surrogate was our best option." you smiled as john clapped his hands,

"oh that's awesome! congratulations." he smiled as yoko and sean entered the room,

"juju!" sean smiled while julian opened his arms,

"hey seanny. hey ma." he smiled looking at his step mom, who smiled at her step son,

"hello julian! whose the lucky (boy/girl/ person)?" she asked smiling over at you,

"(her/ his/ their) name is (y/n)." he beamed grasping your hand, "we're expecting a baby via surrogate july 2." he smiled.

"oh congrats! your father always raves about being a grandfather so i'm excited for you both." she smiled as julian grinned,

"thanks mom." he grinned.

as the time went on and everyone had good conversation, the day seemed to fly by. after dinner and drinks, julian and you settled down for the evening,

"hey julian, yoko and i are going out tomorrow for some studio work, we have a photoshoot, and maybe we're gonna grab some dinner, wanna join?" he asked while julian nodded,

"that sounds lovely dad." he smiled while john kissed his head,

"splendid. i love you." he beamed, while julian looked at him with sad yet happy eyes,

"i love you more dad." and with that john went to bed.

the next day everyone woke up, had breakfast, and got ready for the day.

john and yoko headed to the studio, had their photoshoot with photographer annie leibowitz, and were headed out for dinner with you and julian.

you all went to this fine dining restaurant called, 'lennie's last meal.' as everyone ordered what they wanted.

after dinner while everyone was heading back into the building, you and julian were in the lead when 4 shots were fired, hitting john in the back.

yoko, you and julian turned around as john cried out, "i've been shot! i've been shot!"

"DAD!" he shouted out as he ran towards his father's aid while yoko and you screamed out.

"dad it's ok. i'm here i'm here." julian cried while john looked into his eyes,

"i'm so sorry for abandoning you and your mother, jules. i never meant to abandon my cynny and jules." he replied weakly,

"it's ok dad." julian cried while you and yoko watched.

"just be a better father than i was." he replied as he slipped his eyes close, dying almost instantly.

julian cried out while he held him closely.
