he stood at the doorway watching you pack your bags, with folded arms, "hurry it up (y/n), your cab is arriving in 12 minutes." he smiled softly.

you had turned to look at your dad with sad eyes. you were headed off to college, and even though he had wished he could've driven you there, he had plans with his band.

"i'm gonna be fine dad. i'm just making sure everything is packed up and ready to go." you replied, as he walked in, hugging you. you hugged him back,

"i just hope all works out." you replied, looking down. george lightly kissed your forehead, patting your back,

"it will kiddo. your mother would be so proud of you. you're the first on both sides of the family to go to college and i'm very proud of you! i know she would be too." he smiled, patting your shoulder.

"thanks dad. well, i guess this is it until my first break." you shrugged, moving some hair out of your face.

"it'll all work out for the best, (y/n). you've got your whole life ahead of you! you're only 18. you've got this! besides, you know how much i wish i could be there. it's just we're going on tour and i can't abandon ship." he reiterated while you nodded, looking down,

"i know dad. i hope i can make friends, and fit in." you replied as george smiled,

"oh you will! maybe you'll even find a (girlfriend/boyfriend/ partner)!" he winked, nudging into your elbow.

"ew dad gross!" you gagged as the two of you heard the honk of the cab.

"well, that's me." you shrugged as george pulled you in for a tight hug,

"my lovely (daughter/son/child), you are going to blow these people away, you are going to knock the roof off this school, you are MY KID! now go make us harrison's proud!" he cheered as you hugged him back,

"yes dad." you smiled, walking out of the house with your carry on bag. he watched you leave as you turned around waving at him,

"bye dad!"

"bye (y/n)!" he waved back, watching you leave.

as the cab disappeared around the corner, george held his heart, "we did it pattie. our (girl/boy/ kid) is finally doing it!" and with that, he wiped his tear and closed the door.
