the two of you laughed heartily as you ran through the garden of your grandparents home. it was moments like this you cherished your big brother george, and how adventurous he could be. you stopped running as your older brother showed you to your grandparents' stone door.

"nan and papa say this leads to a very secret area. i've seen it a dozen times but they said i could bring you. do you want to see it?" he asked, smiling at his younger sibling.

"yes! i wanna see what you're talking about." you gleamed. amazement laced in your eyes.

he smirked a bit as he pushed the stone door open, revealing a cobblestone path, weeping willows, lush green grass, stone benches, and a small koi fish pond, "welcome to escapism (y/n). nan and papa keep this hidden so that no one pollutes it." the twelve year old boy replied informatively. You nodded, too awestruck to reply or even listen. You felt like Alice compared to the largeness of this comely place.

"do you like it?" george smiled.

"i love it." you grinned.

"i knew you would! they were afraid you wouldn't understand." george replied, glancing at you.

"i'm 10 years old, not 3! of course i can understand!" you replied defensively.

"no not like that you dummy! they meant like understand why they kept it secluded." george laughed.

"i think so." you responded, with a smile, obviously playing a prank on your brother.

"do you really not know?" he reiterated.

"no, you said it's because they didn't want it to be polluted." you answered as you looked around one last time,

"tag you're it." you giggled as george smiled,

"last one to nan and papa is a rotten egg!" he laughed.

"you're on!" and with that, you guys ran off to your grandparents' home, enjoying your youth.
