Sara

Sara was still upset over the events of the previous day. She wanted to believe him. Needed to. The alternative, being without him, was worse. Both explanations made sense. He was either cheating on her with Chelsea or he wasn't and something else was going on. The surprise? Maybe.

Kai had seemed genuinely confused on what Chelsea was talking about, so he had an extra point in his favor. Not that she was keeping score or anything. Sara had decided that morning, after Kai left for work, to text Christi and see if she would divulge anything.

There were two finals on her schedule for today and Sara spent the morning quickly reviewing her notes for the classes before heading out to the testing center. Her last final, Philosophical Ethics, would be tomorrow afternoon.

She and Kai still needed to rehearse their presentation, but other than that, they were finished. After last nights events, Sara wasn't very hungry, and neither was Kai. He had put their dinner away in the fridge and would heat it up tonight for dinner instead. He had told her he wanted a re-do of yesterday, starting with dinner and then working on their presentation.

Casey had called that morning to check on her. AJ must have let slip that there was an incident with Chelsea. After telling her what happened Casey wanted to go to her hotel room and rip her a new one. That would be fine with Sara. Chelsea was the gift that kept on giving.

When she reached her car, to head to school, she noticed that same black car sitting at the other end of the parking lot. She shuddered and quickly climbed in, locking the door as soon as it was closed. Sara kept an eye on her rear-view mirror as she pulled away onto the main road. The black car pulled out and started following her.

Her grip on the steering wheel tightened and her knuckles went white as the car continued to follow her all the way to school. She considered calling 911, hoping that they could intervene, but then she'd have to tell Kai and he already didn't believe her about Kyle. She doubted he would believe her about a car following her everywhere.

Sara parked in the closest stall, one that was surrounded by other vehicles so the black car would be unable to park next to her. She grabbed her purse and hurried inside, quickly taking a look behind her before walking through the doors. The car was still trying to find a parking place.

Waiting for her turn to enter a room was excruciating. She expected Kyle to pop through the main door any second and she needed to be out of his reach. Her hands grew clammy, and her leg bounced as she waited. It was ten minutes before there was space for her to take her first test.

Sara had a hard time concentrating on the questions, but she tried to answer as best she could. She headed back to the main lobby to check in for her second test. This one took place in one of the other rooms as it was a written test instead of a multiple choice. A little more freedom was given in here and the proctors were more relaxed when it came to written tests. She pulled out her folder for her notes to show the proctor before taking a seat.

Thankfully this test was open note as she had to construct paragraphs detailing different situations and responses to the various aspects of childhood trauma. She was able to concentrate more on this exam than the first and she finished in about an hour.

She handed in the test before walking outside. She held her keys, ready to quickly unlock and hop in her car. Her eyes kept glancing around, looking for anyone, or anything, out of the ordinary. She didn't see the black car anywhere, but that doesn't mean it wasn't ready to follow her some more.

Sara walked behind two bigger vehicles when a hand gripped her arm and yanked her into the space between them. Before she could scream a hand was placed over her mouth. The grip on her arm tightened and she knew there would be bruises. Her body was slammed against one of the vehicles and she would have collapsed if it weren't for the body of her attacker pushing her into the vehicle.

She tried to wiggle and get away, but the man pushed and gripped tighter. That's when she saw his face.

Kyle.

Pure terror filled her as she struggled against him. Tears fell from her eyes. She needed to get away.

"Why don't you look happy to see me Sara?" he whispered as he nibbled on her ear, "I'm happy to see you" he pushed his hard groin into her. His erection was obvious, and she internally screamed. She tried to pull away, but he continued to tighten his grip.

He attacked her in broad daylight in an area crawling with students. Sara pleaded for someone, anyone to walk by and save her.

"Won't be long now. You'll be mine." His lips forced their way to hers. He shoved his tongue in and Sara did the only thing she could think of; she bit down. Hard. By the copper taste in her mouth, she knew she had drawn blood.

Kyle let out a yelp and leapt back and slapped her across the face. "You bitch!" The slap stung and she knew it would leave a mark on her face. Taking that opportunity of Kyle finally being off her, she ran and screamed for help.

He did not follow. Nor was he around when campus police came over. After Sara had left his grasp she ran to the first person she could find, who quickly helped her to the testing center so they could call campus police, who, arrived a few minutes later.

"Do you want to call anyone ma'am?" The officer asked.

Her first thought was Kai or Casey. Maybe with an incident report and an actual mark on her cheek, they would believe her. Maybe.

"No" she replied. "Would one of you be willing to escort me to my car and I'll head home?"

One of the officers nodded and escorted her to her car. She thanked him before climbing in and driving to her apartment.

"Ma'am, if you see him again, even in the distance, please don't hesitate to call us or 911."

"Yes, officer, thank you"

Sara waited until she was safely in her room, door closed and locked, before she let herself breakdown. She texted Kai and told him she wasn't feeling well and would stay the night at her apartment.

Kai: Would you like some company tonight?

Sara: No, I'm pretty tired. I'm going to turn in early tonight, so I'm well rested for our presentation tomorrow.

Kai: Okay, let me know if you change your mind. Love you.

Sara: Love you too.

Sara inspected herself in the mirror. Her cheek was still tender but didn't look like it would bruise. Her arm, on the other hand, was bruised from where Kyle's hands had gripped her. She could easily cover that up with a long sleep shirt or jacket.

Knowing she needed to tell Kai and Casey what happened Sara tried to figure out what to say to them so they would believe her.

Meanwhile Sara turned off her light and climbed into bed. With the main door and her bedroom door locked, she felt secure enough to fall asleep.
