Kai

Kai was waiting in the passenger pick-up area of the airport waiting for Christi. He thought it would be fun to try and embarrass her with a cheesy sign and he had Sara help him create this gawky masterpiece. Christi was going to love it.

Sara was nervous about meeting his sister. Understandable. Kai knew Christi was going to love her though. He tried easing her worries, but this was a big step for her to take.

Another rush of passengers came through the area he was standing in. He heard a squeal and then he was about knocked over as Christi ran into him full force.

"Did you make this for me?" Christ asked as she pulled the poster from his hands.

"Yes"

"Gosh, it looks awful" Christi made a face.

"Sara helped me make it"

"Oh, it looks perfect then!" Christi smiled and gave him a hug. This time with less force.

"I know it hasn't been that long since I saw you last, but you've grown taller" Kai said. Christi just smiled at him. Compared to his 6'4" height, Christi was a shrimp at 5'2". Christi was usually on the unfortunate end of their parents' judgements on her looks. Christi had inherited their grandmother's physique, which meant a few extra pounds. Their father would make comments on it frequently, but Christi kept her head held high. She didn't let it bother her. She would tell Kai that she was at a healthy weight for her height and age. Her normally light brown hair had been dyed to a gray with purple tips. "You also dyed your hair again"

"Isn't it great? Stephanie thought it would look amazing, so I gave it a try."

Since Christi only had a carry-on they headed out to the parking lot to head home.

"What did you want to do tonight?" Kai asked as they drove out of the parking lot.

"Sleep. It was a super long flight, and I was scrunched between the window and a lady with a baby on her lap. The baby was adorable. I helped her out by holding the baby and he and I looked out the window as we flew over. I was so glad he wasn't a screamer." She took out her phone to show some selfies she took with the baby. "I would also like to eat and.... Meet your girlfriend!"

Kai chuckled. Christi was so full of energy. She might just overwhelm Sara instead. "Sara would love to meet you. She's going to come over for dinner, if you are okay with that?"

Christi nodded her head. "Chinese?"

Kai gave a little laugh and nodded his head. Christi loved Chinese food. Kai had made sure to check out the local places to find one she would like.

"We'll grab some on the way home. It's not too far away from where we are now."

Christi chatted the rest of the time they were in the truck, while they waited for their food, and on the drive to the condo. Kai forgot how much she liked to talk. Their weekly phone calls never did her justice.

Once home, Kai helped Christi to the guest room, and he introduced her to AJ since they had never officially met.

While waiting for Sara to join them, Kai had told Christi a little about Sara. He almost begged Christi to tone her enthusiasm down, just at first, so Sara didn't freak out. Christi made no promises.

There was a knock at the door and Christi bolted towards it. Kai was afraid of that, but quickly followed after her. Christi pulled the door open so fast that she about knocked herself to the ground.

Sara and Casey had jumped back when the door opened.

"It's my new bestie!" Christi screamed and then launched herself at Sara, enveloping her in a giant bear hug.
