74. Hard to Breath

Elizabeth's POV

Harry and I both headed back into the hotel hand in hand. I zipped up my sweater as we walked into the elevator. Harry pressed the button to our floor and after a few seconds we started moving.

"I think right now, I'm going to change and take a short nap then we can-" I stop once I felt the elevator shake to a stop. I held onto Harry to gain some balance.

"What the hell?" Harry says, knitting his brows together pressing our floor button repeatedly. Harry glanced up above the door looking at the floor numbers.

"What's happening? " I ask.

"I think we are stuck." He sighs. "Here I'll call for help." Harry says taking out his phone pressing the red emergency button on the pad. Harry dialed a number on his phone before pressing it to his ear. I watched him, crossing my arms over my chest biting my nails.

"Hey, Liam, can you go to the front and say that we are stuck in the elevator?" Harry asks. "Yea, the left one. Okay, thanks." He says before hanging up.

I groan stomping my foot several times. "This can't be happening." I shake my head pressing the floor button several times.

"It's okay. Liam is getting help."  Harry says calmly grabbing my hand.

Harry's POV

It's been about five minutes and we still haven't heard from anyone.

"Oh my God!" Elizabeth said hitting the elevator doors with her hand. "I'm going to have a panic attack."

"It's okay. I'm right here." I say pulling her in but she steps back sinking to the floor. I frown and kneel down in front of her.

Elizabeth closes her eyes holding her head in her hands. "I have to get out of here." She laughs but I know she isn't laughing, she is starting to feel very uneasy.

"Hey, Harry!" I hear Liam yell followed by several bangs against the elevator doors. "Are you in there?!"

"Yea, we are here!"

"Okay, we are going to get you out!" I hear a voice that didn't sound like any of the lads. I think it's James.

"Okay, but can you hurry up cause my girl is freaking out?!"

I look up and see the doors part slightly before shutting again. I stood up and waited for them to pull on the doors again. As soon as I saw a small crack between them I placed my fingers through trying to pull them apart.

"I'm going to have heart attack." Elizabeth says. I turn and see her crying.

"Elizabeth." I say but she doesn't look up. "Babe, look at me!" She doesn't listen. I shake my head and pull on the doors while James and Liam pull on the thin layer on the other side.

I turn back to look at Elizabeth, she is crying and starting to breath heavily.

"Hey, Niall?!" I call.

"Yea!" He answers. "I'm here!"

"Can you call,Elizabeth to see if she can calm down?!"

"On it!"

Elizabeth's POV

I look up at Harry as they try to get the doors open. I hear my phone ring in my bag.

"Ellie, answer you phone."Harry says looking briefly at me. I nod grabbing my bag taking my phone out.

"H-hello?" I sniff.

"Hey, crazy." I hear Niall's voice and I smile, weakly.

"Hey."

"Are you okay?" He asks in a calm soothing voice.

"Um.."

"Can't you guys pull harder?" I hear Harry's dissapointed voice. I look up and see him scowling.

"No. I hate elevators, this is literally like my biggest fear right here." I admit.

"Shh, its okay. We will get you out soon."

"Niall, I hate it!" I sob.

"I know love. I'm right here."

"I can't stand being here!" I close my eyes. "I -i can't" I say breathing heavily.

"Damn it! " I hear Harry curse. I close my eyes and let out a deep breath.

Flashback

"Come on!" Aaron says grabbing my hand leading us into the elevator. "We are going to have fun tonight."

"Fun? Really?" I ask crossing my arms over my chest as the elevator moves. "Why do we always have to go out? Why can't we just stay in?"

"What do you mean?"

"When are we ever going to be alone?" I complain. "We are always with your friends. " I say rolling my eyes.

"Alright." Aaron says and I feel the elevator shake to a stop. I glance up and see that he pressed the emergency stop button.

"What are you doing?" I ask.

"Now, we are alone." He shrugs steeping closer to me.I shake my head.

"No no no,this isn't-" He grabs my face pressing his lips onto mine pushing me against the elevator wall.

End of flashback

"Elizabeth, it's okay." Niall says. "Talk to me."

No no no! He can't know!

I slowly shake my head, gripping at my hair."Niall, please hurry." I sob.

"We are trying babe. We will get you out in no time."

"You said that fifteen minutes ago." I whine.

"Harry, let go of the door. Go to Elizabeth!" Liam yells.

"Okay, I'm going to hang up babe so I can help.I love you." Niall says hanging up. I shut off my phone as Harry rushes over to my side.

"Baby baby shhh." Harry says sitting down next to me pulling me on his lap. "It's okay. It's okay."

"I c-can't breathe..." I sigh out. Harry placed his hand on the side of my face making me look up at him.

"I'm right here, baby." Harry says softly. "Just breathe in and out." He says breathing in through his nose before breathing out through his mouth. I nod mimicking his actions a few times.

"I"m s-sorry." I whisper.

"No, it's not your fault." Harry whispers. I fist my hand in his shirt as he rocks us back and forth. "I understand, it's okay. " I sniff laying my head under his neck and close my eyes listening to Harry hum in my ear.
