Elizabeth’s POV

Aaron and I walked out of the diner and headed outside under the starry sky above us. The pavement was glowed under the streets lights due to the rain that poured down earlier. Aaron guided us over to his black Range Rover and unlocked the doors, tugging on the handle opening the passenger door. I gave him a small smiled and climbed in, he slammed the door shut before walking around the car and got in his seat.

“It’s kind of cold. I’ll turn on the heater” Aaron stated after he turned on the car, reaching over pressing various buttons that were displayed near the radio. After a few seconds I felt the warm air rush through the front of the car as I reached over to my side and tugged on me seat belt buckling in. Aaron took of his beanie and ran his fingers through his hair and fixed his rearview mirror before pulling out of the parking space.

“So what would you like to eat? “Aaron asked as he stopped on a red light. Rain started to fall hitting the windshield.

“Umm.well to be honest I’m not all that picky about food” I said biting on my lower lip letting out a small breathy laugh. Aaron smiled and turned on the windshield wipers as the red light finally turned green and the car started to move again.

“Well then we can decide once we get to my flat.” He replied and I simply gave him a nod and turned to look out the window, several raindrops were racing down to the bottom.  Why is it that whenever it rains the colors of building and green grass always seem to stand out more?I love the rain if I could stand in it all day I would.

“Alright, well, this my place” Aaron announced as we both walked into his flat. I glanced around and smiled.  I turned my attention back on Aaron as he hung his coat on the rack by the door and took off his shoes.

“You can take your coat and shoes off if you like” Aaron said smiling at me walking over to the table behind the couch tossing his keys. “I don’t mind. Go ahead and make yourself at home.”

I nodded and shrugged off my coat as he walked into the kitchen in his black socks. The small smile that I had on my face quickly disappeared once a small memory crossed my mind but I quickly shook it off not allowing it to sink in further.  I sighed and clasped my hands together playing with my fingers walking over to the kitchen.

“So Elizabeth what would you like to eat?” Aaron asked as he opened up his refrigerator.

“Um...surprise me” I replied in a small voice not wanting to be a bother and also I really have no idea what I want to eat.

“Alright” He smiled and started to take food out of the refrigerator and cabinets above the stove. “You can go take a look around while I get dinner ready.”

I nodded shyly and walked out of the kitchen into the living room. I would have helped him but let’s be honest I am the works cook ever.

I stepped into the living room; my small heeled ankle boots clicked against the wooden floor. My eyes quickly darted over to the huge flat screen T.V that was displayed right in front of the couch underneath the fire place. Shelves were surrounding the T.V containing various photographs of his family and friends along with past old football trophies given to him at a much younger age.  After a while of observing around, my senses quickly latched onto the beautiful mouth water smell coming from the kitchen. I hummed quietly; feeling quite famished and made my way into the kitchen.

My eyes widened as I walked in on Aaron placing food on our plates. He had cooked up some Alfredo Pasta and chicken along with some salad on the side.

“That smells and looks delicious.” I said approvingly biting on my lower lip.

“Thank you” He replied as he placed the pan back onto the stove allowing it to cool off. He made his way around the small island in the middle of the kitchen and set our plates down along the side of each other. He gestured his hand for me to take a seat and I obliged sitting on one of the stools.

“You know when I said surprise me I didn’t mean for you to go all the way” I teased as I picked up my fork once he sat down beside me.  Aaron smiled.

“I know but like I said I do enjoy cooking.” He replied picking up his fork. I nodded and popped some food into my mouth from the corner of my eyes I saw Aaron looking at me with warm grey eyes.

“So what’s the verdict?” He grinned. I quickly chewed my food and swallowed glancing over at him.

“It’s very delicious.” I nodded and with that we both began to eat our meal.

“You know Aaron; I could have just settled with any form of Chinese takeout.” I said handing him my plate so he could place it into the sink. “I mean you did make a lot of food.”

“I do hope you’re not telling me this because you either think you were being a bother or because you believe you might have gained some weight due to the amount of food.” He said eyeing me. “If that’s the case, I do recall me inviting you over as my guest; so you are not a bother.” He smiled. I nodded and walked back over to where we were eating and grabbed my glass of tea and took a sip.

“Also, I’d much rather have a girl who isn’t afraid to eat a lot than the typical girl who never eats in front of a guy because he may think that she is overweight.” I gave him a small smile and drank the rest of my tea before handing him my glass.
