54. Indistinguishable Feelings

Elizabeth's POV

"In here!" Eleanor gasp grabbing my hand leading us into a very high fashion looking store. Eleanor pulls on the glass door tugging me along with her, Perrie and Sophia follow suit.

We all went our seperate ways and scanned the various clothes racks filled with smooth, soft fitted clothing. Honesty, I have enough clothes as it is, a whole closet full. Although, with the present I have bought for Harry I surely believe it'll make up for his absurd, irrational spending.

I turned around seeing Eleanor emerge from the dressing rooms with a blue dress folded on her right  arm.

"I'm buying this" she smiled and walked towards the counter. Sophia and Perrie were standing by the entrance already with their purchases at hand.

I scanned the shoe section as I waited for Eleanor to make her purchase. As I waited, I couldn't help but feel my mind being clouded by scattered and irrational thoughts.

Should I have bought something? The girls did.

Suddenly, I feel something course through me... guilt? Am I really feeling guilty for not buying something? Or is it something else? Honestly, Elizabeth, how more pathetic can you be?

I shake my head in disgust and slowly make my way towards Sophia and Perrie. They both give me a smile, and I return it, forcefully...I think; before resuming their conversation.

I glance out the store windows seeing various taxis and cars drive by back and forth, occasionally honking at one another. Subconsciously, I start to twiddle my gloved- covered fingers on my arm, having my arms crossed over my chest.

I really wish that I could stay in New York forever and not have to go back to the academy. Why would I want to go back? New York is such a beautiful place.  The academy, on the other hand is not.

I know that as soon as I go back I will have to face Caroline...and Aaron. Why can't they just leave me alone? What did I do to Caroline to make her detest me so much?

I run my tongue across my lower lip before pulling it between my teeth.

As soon as I return to the academy I will still be treated like a freak by whole student body, just because of the sleezeball known as Aaron. They all think I slept with him and based on the pictures that were taken that night, me drunk and dressed in very fitted clothing , makes it all seem true.

God, if my parents were here to see all of this...

"Hey, Ellie, you okay?" I hear Sophia ask me. And even though she is right next to me she sounds so far away.

I glance up seeing Sophia and Perrie staring at me with a worried expression plastered on their faces.

"What's going on?" Eleanor asks walking coming to a stop next to us.

"I don't know" Perrie shrugs then turns her attention back on me. "That's what we are trying to figure out."

Eleanor frowns joining in on their worried looks.

Stop starring at me damn it!

I feel tears quickly sting in the corners of my eyes.

"Elizabeth what's the matter?"  Eleanor ask placing her hand on my arm, my breathing becoming shallow.

"I...can't...breath" I whisper between breaths and with that they quickly pull me out of the store.

Harry's POV

Liam quickly parks on the side of the street once we pulled up on Rose Avenue. Liam turns off the car and I quickly step out, a few light raindrops falling on me.

Once I see the girls car parked a few feet away, I quickly dash over seeing the back door open with the girls standing in front of it looking into the car.

I gently push though the girls seeing Elizabeth crying sitting in the black leather seat.

"Thank God! Eleanor exclaims in relief but their was still a bit of anxiety in her voice.

"What happened?" I ask, nervously glancing at the girls.

"I don't know... we were in the store then I noticed she was spacing out and before we knew it... she was crying" Sophia answers a few tears running down her face her fingers pressed over her lips.

"Its okay, Soph." I nod at her as Liam wrapped his arm around her.

I look at Elizabeth and grab her hands in mine. "Baby what's wrong?" I ask her starring at her sad broken expression. 

Elizabeth shakes her head slowly at me. "I ...don't know...and...I... can't breath..."

"I'm right here baby" I let go of her hands and place them on either side of her face, cleaning off her smudged makeup off her cheeks with my thumbs.

"Just breath with me" I gently order and take in a breath before slowly releasing it. Elizabeth follows, but shakily a few times before giving up.

"I can't" she shobs fanning her hands in front of her, impatiently.

"Shh baby. It okay, you're here with me." I whisper to her but with the noises surrounding us I doubt she heard me.

"Guys, we have to get her out of here" I frown  climbing in the back seat with Elizabeth.

"I'll drive" Eleanor States and quickly climbs in the front.

"Okay, well see you back home" Liam nods and closes the door.
