Revenge

The ceremony had started. Every one togther gave a welcoming and good morning salute and then stood at our desks. I would have asked Xiongzhang if I could not be in lectures because I had taken them already but that would really cause people to be suspicious and why I was allowed to skip out. So I just had to deal with it.

Of course each of the clans greeting one after another and presented the gift from their clan they brought as a thank you. Lanling, Qinghe, and then Yunmeng. Brother and I had better hopes when Jiang Wanyin stepped forward to greet himself and his siblings, as well as handing over their gift. It was all going smoothly, but Wen Chao broke through the ward anyway and the flare did not go off. Which means, someone got hurt before they could send it.

"Who would have thought that getting past the gate of Cloud Recesses would be such a hassle," Wen Chao said arrogantly.

I looked at my brother who was shocked that the ward was broken...he knew Wei Ying had the talent but how did a Wen do it. Their skills have not been up to par as they used to be. Their egos and arrogance had grown though.

"They are that way for a reason," I mumble quietly.

"Which dog decided to bark?" Wen Chao scowled.

I turned to him, "I did, you have a problem, Wen Chao?" I asked.

"Second Master Lan, the younger twin Jade," He mocked, "you think you are so much better then everyone don't you."

"No, I do not, as arrogance is forbidden here," I told him, "so you actually broke a rule of Cloud Recesses, you also broke a few others, such as causing a disturbance during a class or important event, yelling, bullying, and harming others, which you probably did to get past the gate," I looked at my brother and Shufu who were both smiling at my authority, "you may be his excellency's son but status goes away once you step inside Cloud Recesses. It applies to clan members and visitors."

"You little-"

"Wen Gongzi," Xiongzhang interrupted him, "I am afraid we have to send a punishment your way. As sect leader it is my job to make sure that those who break the rules are dealt with accordingly. Also, my Shufu, is in charge of handing out punishments, so Shufu, what do you think!"

"Fifty floggings if you ask me," he said, "and that's the lighter punishment. I'm being somewhat lenient as he is a visitor."

"Wen Gongzi, you are to receive fifty floggings as your punishment," Xiongzhang said, "if your father has an issue about it he can come to discuss it later but you are to head to the Elegance room."

"And if I don't go there?" He asked.

"You will be dragging there and it will increase to a hundred floggings," Shufu stated.

"Could just do it here if he is unwilling to move," I said, "I'd be happy to clean up afterwards."

"Go get the flogging paddle," Shufu commanded. A disciple did and returned after about two minutes, "it will be better if you kneel but if you do not, then don't say we did not warn you."

Wen Chao scoffed and unsheathed his sword. Two other disciples managed to disarm him and tie him up. Once he was tied up, he collapsed to the floor on his knees.

"Fifty floggings," Shufu said and was getting impatient, "do it now."

As I used to in my past life, I kept an expressionless face but on the inside I was smiling; maybe even laughing a little at how I just got Wen Chao beaten. I looked at Wei Ying who seems to be enjoying the show just as much as I was. Others were a bit nervous but at the same time they dared not show it. After the last hit, Wen Chao was untied. He stayed there dazed about what had just happened to him.

Wen Qing though, introduced herself along with Wen Ning. I wanted to try and save them this time. Wen Ning should not be a fierce corpse in this life, and neither of them should burn to death. It was nice to see them again but I know Wen Qing's motive at the moment. After the Wen's left, although I said I'd clean the mess, another disciple did it instead.
