~*1 year later*~

It has been some time. Life in Lotus Pier is actually really nice. The weather is warmer so my robes are much lighter. I have learned to become more free from my confinement of rules to Cloud Recesses. Living in Lotus Pier changed so many things for me. I loved it here, and I was able to give lectures about cultivating and meditation methods. Surprisingly, a lot of disciples found it useful.

The library they have is also giant. There was so many books that I could read and I didn't even know where to start. Aside from the lecture I give, Wei Ying and I spend time with sword training. I learned the Jiang Sects techniques and as a return, I only taught Wei Ying Lan Sect sword techniques. As another promise, I thought him the silence spell as he promised not to abuse it. Wei Ying would work with the young disciples in archery. As I was curious I went to see what they taught one day and I was impressed. They used kites as targets. I would actually go and watch every once in a while, even try to shoot a kite myself. Wei Ying still held the record for hitting the furthest kite from training grounds.

There was one more thing that made Wei Ying and my life so much more enjoyable....our little bundle of joy. It was a boy, we gave him the name Lan Yuan, courtesy Sizhui. My and Shijie also had a child they named Lan Jingyi. We were determined to let the little cousins meet and become friends.

Jiang Wanyin still sat in seclusion as well as Jiang Fengmian. They did not know when or if they will come out. Especially anytime soon.

Wei Ying and I were heading to Gusu with Sizhui for the first time. It has been four months since his birth and Shufu, Xiongzhang, and Shijie were bugging us to meet him. We also wanted to meet little Jingyi. It will be interesting to know what they say when they see me in purple robes...I still wore my forehead ribbon as it is still sacred to me. Wei Ying was happy that I do.

"Hello Hanguang Jun and Sect leader Wei," the disciples at the gate greeted us.

I showed them my Jade token and we were allowed in. Even without it, we would still be able to go inside. Wei Ying decided to let me hold Sizhui to greet him to Shufu and my brother. We reached Yashi (Elegant room) and waited for them to arrive. Yanli came first with little Jingyi.

"What a handsome fella," Wei Ying said looking at Jingyi.

"Look at your little Sizhui, he is so cute," Yanli said, "he has Wangji's nose and A'Xian's eyes."

We both chuckled with a nod. After a few short minutes, Shufu and Xiongzhang arrived. We bowed as to greet them.

"This is my grandnephew from you two?" Shufu asked looking at Sizhui, "what name did you pick again?"

"His name is Lan Yuan, courtesy name, Lan Sizhui," I answered and handed him to Shufu.

"He is very quiet," Shufu said, "is he always this quiet?"

"For the most part, yes," Wei Ying answered, "when he wants attention he will get noisy but other than that, he is just a calm but smiling baby boy. I think he gets the calmness from Lan Zhan."

"The smiling is from Wei Ying," I added.

"Why do you asked?" Wei Ying questioned.

"Not that I don't mind but, Jingyi is a restless one," Shufu answered, "hard to please this boy."

We just laughed, "when he is old enough, we will let him attend here for lectures," Wei Ying said, "see how calm he is then."

"No antics like you I hope," Shufu said with a smirk.

"I thought you loved my mischievous nature," Wei Ying teased.

"Not really," Shufu said with a smug grin on his face.

"Wangji, I have to say, you look good in Jiang Sect robes," Shijie pointed out.

"Oh, thank you," I said, "I am doing well there, by the way. I am teaching meditation and cultivation methods, Wei Ying and I train disciples with sword techniques, and then Wei Ying instructs the archery groups."

"Seems like you both are settle just fine," Shijie said.

"We are, I miss your soup though," Wei Ying said.

"I should teach Wangji how to make it so he can cook it for you."

"I would love to learn it," I said, "any recipes you want to teach me, I am all for it."

"Oh, I meant to ask, how did the whole thing happen with Sizhui anyway? It is impossible for a man to conceive yet Wei Ying, once again achieved the impossible," Xiongzhang asked.

"The day of our wedding, Nuwa stopped in the see me," Wei Ying explained, "she gave me a supplement that helps others, specifically men, to conceive a child. I am able to conceive still but Lan Zhan and I are content with Sizhui for the moment."

"So it was a gift from Nuwa?" Brother asked.

"Yes," Wei Ying answered.

"Interesting," Brother said.

With that, we talked about many things that day. There were so many things to talk about. There was one thing that came to my head that got me crying, they were bittersweet tears. They were tears that fell as a remembrance to our past lives and this current life.

"Lan Zhan? Is everything alright?" Wei Ying asked noticing my tears.

Others looked at me in concern. The two little ones were sleeping so it was easier to really talk at the moment. I felt now was a good time to really let my feelings and thoughts be heard.

"Everything is fine, actually," I said, "I just had some thoughts run through my head. These tears are bittersweet tears."

"Want to talk about it?" Wei Ying asked.

"Thinking back, I still go back to that day sometimes. That day I lost you. That day everything caused a shift in reality. After some time, I met Nuwa, she showed me your life, your past memories, brother was there for most of it so he can somewhat understand. She granted my wish for a second chance to fix everything. To help you and your loved ones, and a second chance to admit my feelings to you. Really open up to you. It's amazing how much I have grown because I used to be someone who would barely speak at all, if at all. But now, I have to strength to open up and talk. The strength to be me and true to myself and show emotions again after so long of holding them in..."

I paused for a moment to catch my thought, hoping that I wasn't just trailing on and on with words.

"...you changed my life, Wei Ying. Changed it in a way that even words cannot explain. One would say playing with fate is a dangerous and tricky game. We had our bumpy road this second life but it was far better. Less deaths and less massacres. New weapons, cultivation techniques, and new everything. I learned how to love someone, how to give them anything and everything. I learned how to do so many things and I feel so blessed about it all."

Others continue to look at me but also smiled. They seemed proud that I spoke my thoughts and were also surprised that I spoke so much. I found that living in Lotus Pier, I have learned to better communicate and learned new social skills. My love for Wei Ying will grow every day and it was last an eternity.

Changing fate was a risk I took for a better future for the both of us. Not just us, but others as well. Some people did not get off so easily. Jiang Wanyin and Jiang Fengmian are in seclusion, Fengmian lost his wife and Wanyin lost a mother but also has many sins to be ignored. Self-reflection is the best thing for him. I now have my Wei Ying, I got my second chance and a happy ending. I know Wei Ying feels the same as does everyone else in the room.
