"What's with you and that Swan girl?" Rosalie quipped, flicking her eyes over to Bella as I returned to the conversation. "Um. Nothing really, just friends I guess. Why?"
"She keeps glancing at you and its bothering me." My sister replied plainly, as if it were obvious. I just smiled, my sister was like that. Tell it to you as it is, no beating around the bush. "I wonder if she has a crush on you?"
Feeling my ears go red, I shrugged and returned to shoveling food into my mouth, today I found my hunger was a little worse than normal. I guess its too be expected, not having hunted in a while. Maybe father would allow me to go out with Emmet into the forest later this evening. I returned my gaze to where it had originally been, leveled at the chocolate haired girl across the hall from me, losing myself in thought until my elbow fell out from under my chin. It was brought to my attention, by a rather gleeful group of brothers, that I had been staring at her. Her, the same bloody girl that seemed to pop up where ever there was news, Bella this and Bella that...I felt terrible for her. She was new, and this was how they treated her. Though I will admit, through this all, I was surprised she convinced Mike to invite me to the Beach ma-do-hicka that he had put together. Honestly, my nerves were fraying at the thought of being in a group of humans for such an extended period of time. Father had said I could go, and upon seeing my reluctance said he would be nearby if trouble arose.
I could see Bella's other friend, out the corner of my eye, talking to her animatedly. I guess I wasn't helping her new-person situation much. I swear, I could be an unintentional protagonist in an anime, like Midora or something. Excusing myself early, I left quickly before anyone could ask any questions; my feet taking me further from the jests and teases about Bella and myself. Today I felt discontent, restless even. As I sat down in the Biology class, I started on some work that I had been set ahead of the class, I realized something about my feeling restless.
I had no idea why.
With my rain saturated hair dripping slightly, I sang a little song softly to myself in the empty classroom.

Bella POV.
"Y/n Cullen is staring at you," Jessica giggled in my ear.
"He doesn't look displeased, does he?" I couldn't help asking.
"No," she said, sounding confused by my question. "Should he be?"
"I kinda abandoned him to his older brother and a snowball fight, and honestly I don't think he likes me," I confided; sighing as I put my head down on my arm.
"The Cullens don't like anybody... well, they don't notice anybody enough to like them. But he's still staring at you."
"Stop looking at him," I hissed.
She snickered, but she looked away. I raised my head enough to make sure that she did, contemplating violence if she resisted.
Mike interrupted us then — he was planning an epic battle of the blizzard in the parking lot after school and wanted us to join. Jessica agreed enthusiastically. The way she looked at Mike left little doubt that she would be up for anything he suggested. I kept silent. I would have to hide in the gym until the parking lot cleared.
For the rest of the lunch hour I very carefully kept my eyes at my own table, only looking up to see Y/n leaving in a brisk walk. I decided to follow, raising from my seat I followed him quietly all the way to Biology. My stomach did frightened little flips at the thought of sitting next to him again.
Arriving at the door, I groaned. It was raining, washing all traces of the snow away in clear, icy ribbons down the side of the walkway. I pulled my hood up, secretly pleased. I would be free to go straight home after Gym. I noticed however, that Y/n had marched across the paths without so much a second thought, and I rushed out after him.
Once he was inside the classroom, I saw he walked straight over to our desk, seating himself in the usual place. Taking out his books, his hair clung to his marble cheeks, framing their sharp angles, water dripping slightly. Getting to work, he paused for a few seconds before he began to sing. If someone had told me that he sang, and that his voice sounded the way it did; I would never have believed them, I would have laughed and told them to stop messing around.
