but i was thinking about all three of these topics bc i saw something about them today scrolling through instagram and twitter and the discussions/comments i saw made me want to write down my thoughts here
so let's just start, shall we?
1. wylett

i did not know that sofia and matt had a ship name until now lol,, but ofc some people call them wylett for the friendship only
made an announcement a few days (or a week idk anymore) ago about how quick people were to assume that co-stars were in a relationship then they would quickly hate on the involved parties bc for some reason they go along with the assumption as if it was proven already??? yeah i was talking about wylett if you didn't know
so they were seen together during easter i think,, matt was with sofia and her family and there is a photo of them sitting beside each other with matt's arm around her and people immediately called matt a groomer lol
my first thought (it's shallow lmao): wasn't matt dating/allegedly dating chandler?? like i thought those two were cute together but maybe they were only friends/broke up
anyway,, i don't have an opinion on whether or not i think sofia and matt are dating bc how would i know, there's only so much you can say about a picture or two
but i do think people blow the situation out of proportion; just like what a lot of people are saying online,, i don't wanna see a jolivia 2.0 - and i say this talking about how people react to the possibility of the relationship
twitter throws around the word "grooming" all the time without realizing the damage they're doing when they don't know the actual situation,, i think it's disgusting that the first reaction to the possibility of a wylett relationship was to attack matt??? like lmao ok so the first assumption is that he MANIPULATED sofia into dating him? at least have a little faith? what's sad is that if this is real, he'll get a lot more hate - josh literally got death threats for a TWO year age gap
speaking of age gaps - what's your thoughts on them? i totally understand the concern when the age gap seems wide (lmao adam and olivia),, so i see where the controversy is coming from (but nobody has to hate on anyone to show they're worried about an age gap? just say you're concerned without attacking someone). but there's also the real world truth that a lot of couples have those types of age gaps,, and not all of those couples end up toxic! a lot of people on the internet talk about their parents having 10 year age gaps,, so i feel like people take age gaps TOO far (to the point of threatening the older party of the alleged relationship) but again, i understand where it comes from bc there are also a lot of people who have had bad experiences with dating people too old/young for them
there is some bias on my part - "knowing" matt from interviews, and his friendship with josh, i want to believe he's a swell guy. and him and sofia have been friends for years, so i'd trust them? but either way, i hope nothing bad (their friendship being ruined,, more cast drama) comes out of any of this
