don't kill me but these first three episodes lacked the energy and direction s1 had,, they're good episodes don't get me wrong (better than the last three lmao) but they weren't the strongest starters for a new season that was supposed to be "leveled up".
also the following thoughts under each episode are only me typing down the things that come up the top of my head so i apologize if it's all scrambled lmao

when it first aired, i didn't like the episode ngl because of how all over the place i thought it was but looking back i was just overwhelmed with getting them back lmaoo. anyways it's actually one of the better episodes of the season. it's so fun and having three songs in it was the cherry on top!
the episode sets up the season perfectly as we get to see what everyone's been up to but we also get sneak peeks into the problems they'll be facing moving forward.

the show foreshadowed the breakup so many times this episode it's depressing lmao.
1. "it's winter break but we'll never break apart"
2 - "i'm never breaking up with nini ever again"
3 - "the key to a good relationship is good communication"
4 - miss jenn comparing her and her ex with ricky and nini
5 - almost kiss during you are the music in me
there's probably more but that's all i remember lol
ricky's fear of change is also hinted when mike tells him they're moving ,, him worried about nini's behavior during the party
nini's self-discovery arc is obviously hinted as well as she attempts to tell ricky about yac
portwell
"something in the air" hinted at them being paired up
gina's unfamiliarity with staying in one place hints at her struggle to get used to it/see the good side of it,, her glances at ricky hint at her unresolved feelings
ej barely got screentime lmao but his conversation with ashlyn hinted at his arc about being a senior and expecting to follow his family's legacy (but like the show doesn't go over this that well anyway tbh because his college arc was solved off screen, and most of his screentime was for portwell to develop)
