and how nini's probably the one who got him into music in the first place ?? like i can imagine nini learning how to play instruments for the first time,, and ricky asking her to teach him ((after pretending he thinks it's weird)) just so that he could spend more time with her//be a part of smth she cares about.
OR he self-taught himself to impress nini after finding out she was taking lessons herself.
