how did we get here 😭
+ did anyone else think the editing was choppy lmao??? some of the transitions were off
+ wasn't a fan of the songs. i didn't rly like fabulous,, it was awkward. love is an open door was cute,,, but that's it lol
+ ej taking a gap year should have been introduced from the beginning? why are we only now knowing this lmao? ((and why is he taking a gap year too? for gina??)) ig it wasn't supposed to be important bc his father was "fine" with it,,, but this plot is so ??? they're cramming ej's lying plot from s1 all in one episode. and,,, was he rly lying? he only got that letter the day of the episode,, doesn't he deserve time to think it through before talking about it?? yes,, he should talk to gina. but the day was so busy lol? it's not like nini where she knew what she was going to do with yac and only told ricky at the last second.
+ not gina saying she hates liars?? did she forget about gina 1.0? out of all people, she would understand why someone would lie.
+ ricky did not feel like ricky in this episode. the whole love triangle is so forced oml. ricky is mistreated too much on this show. right when he could finally have an arc about discovering himself,,, the writers force him to like gina out of nowhere. there was no development. last episode they finally became good friends again,,, and now ricky's obsessed with her? why ??? this is giving off him being clingy with nini except now it's gina. at least with nini, we know why. but this??? it's the writers forcing smth that should be developed through a slow burn,, not four episodes in. ((curious glances are fine. but i was expecting smth important to happen for ricky to start looking at gina romantically,,, but rn they're already pushing it without a valid explanation. ricky walking out after love is an open door for example was confusing??? ig he was intimidated by ej and thought he wasn't good enough in performing so he went off to practice? but ofc,,, everything he does in this episode just has to be related to gina.))
that scene with ricky and jet was bad. in previous episodes ricky cared about jet but now he doesn't care about why jet left in the first place. he only cares about how gina was let down. that isn't ricky. it's the writers forcing rina in places they shouldn't.
i like rina,,, but not like this. i'm not convinced that ricky is "jealous",,, i'm not convinced that ricky is "pining" over gina. i don't feel it??? once again, the reuse of rini tropes is horrible. it's disappointing.
+ kourtney was the only one with a good story
+ ngl that part with the core 3 saying they're drama-free was hilarious
+ ricky's bucket list 😭,,, "have first kiss" and "ride a rollercoaster until i puke" got me
this season was supposed to bring back the s1 greatness,,, but it's doing so horribly. i didn't think the love triangle was going to be this bad. but look where we are???
forcing ricky to go out of character,, forcing him to have a romance story instead of one about himself,,, painting ej as a villain when everything he has done so far makes sense,,, and turning gina into a distorted version of herself ((idk if she's a new nini exactly yet,,, but i don't rly see where they're going with gina's character either in this season))
i was excited for this episode but it's the worst one yet bc most of the scenes felt forced. i'm especially disappointed by how ricky was written. he's supposed to be free,,, but the writers are caging him in a forced romance.
idk i'm crossing my fingers it's not going to continue like this?? things are going to heat up in the last half... maybe it's not hopeless lol.
