"bad," phil gasped, panting from the run, "where is he?" he shouted, body shaking.

"phil you need to calm dow-"

"where is my son darryl?"

"he's upstairs, he has been here for about half an hour," bad replied, leading the older man towards the empty chairs lining the walls of the waiting room.

"is he alive?" the older man cried out, being basically pushed into the seat.

bad spoke as calm as he could, "yes, but you have to understand the injuries are severe and he's lost a lot of blo-"

"can i see him?" phil interrupted, standing back up.

"phil you know i can't let you go to a patients room until-"

"bad, please." he begged, voice now much quieter as his eyes glossed over with fresh tears.

"i'm doing everything i can," darryl assured, though deep down he knew he couldn't ignore the pleas of one of his closest friends.

"i know but..." phil cut himself off with a sob, "please bad i'm begging you."

bad let out an indifferent groan, "okay fine," he gave in, "follow me, quickly."

bad swiftly made his way through the quiet hospital halls, phil hot on his trail.

"he's in here," the brunette informed the other, tapping on the door, "be calm and don't put any strain on him," he ordered, "he's still not fully stable yet."

phil nodded in understanding, pushing through the door and entering to see his son sprawled out on the bed- state worse than he had anticipated.

the bloodied boy blinked his eyes open, gaze shifting over to the older man, "dad?"

his voice was weak and hoarse- and phil could tell from the wince that it hurt him to speak.

"tommy," he gasped quietly, rushing to his son's side.

"i'm so sorry," the blond whispered, eyes brimming with tears, "i'm so, so sorry."

"don't apologise," phil scolded gently, carefully cupping his hand over his sons, "it's okay, you're okay."

"i did it, dad," he admitted quietly, "i jumped."

"i know son, it's okay, i'm not upset, i'm just happy you're here," phil assured, running his thumb along the other's palm as they shared eye contact.

"but i didn't want to be her-"

"i know, i know," he interrupted, voice hushed, "we don't need to talk about this now, you need to rest."
