"i just can't deal with this shit anymore!" sapnap shouted, feeling the volume scratch up his throat. the rage bubbled up inside him like overboiled water, growing up and up until it spilt over and sizzled out against the scorching hot hob.
the ravenette's mind was painted red in a fit of unfiltered frustration as he kicked at the coffee table, watching the wooden surface flip up, sending its contents crashing and smashing over the floor.
the brunette yelped at the loud noise, quickly jumping back as their glass vase shattered, roses scattered and water spilling out onto the wooden floor, seeping into the edges of their rug.
sapnap looked up from the mess to look over at karl, seeing the brunette with his arms held tightly in front of himself, as if he was trying to protect himself, his eyes wet and wide as he stares down at the floor.
he looks terrified.
the drunken haze on sapnap's mind fizzles out immediately, the ravenette completely sobering at the scene in front of him.
the overflowing anger is suddenly wiped away, leaving behind only the red hot burning guilt as he stares across the room at his fiancé.
he notices regretfully that karl is shaking.
"karl-" he says, trying to sound gentle, soft, yet the brunette still finches back at the sound of his own name, looking up at sapnap with a horrified expression, disbelief painting his features.
sapnap looks down at the broken vase, amongst the rest of the mess, then back up at his lover again.
"i didn't mean to," he excuses, though obviously it's a futile lie, since he had kicked the table. he hadn't slipped or fallen, no, he had made the conscious decision to kick it over- and in karl's direction, for god's sake.
karl visibly swallows, looking back down at the scene. he steps back again when he realises the water from the vase is still spreading out, moving towards him slowly.
karl looks back at sapnap, his eyes looking frantically between the younger boys. quietly, clearly scared, he asks, "what is wrong with you?"
"it was an accident," sapnap attempts to defend, trying his best not to raise his voice as he feels his heart sinking with the weight of his actions. "karl, baby, please," he begs aimlessly, "i don't know what happened."
karl shakes his head, moving back even further. "i can't- you- you tried to-"
"i didn't try to do anything," sapnap interrupts his lover's anxious stuttering, "i didn't, karl, i would never," he defends.
"you did," karl argues weakly, arms still pressed against his front like some kind of shield.
"no, no, look," sapnap says, dropping to his knees and pulling the coffee table back onto four legs. he starts picking up the miscellaneous bits and bobs, quickly putting them back in their correct places: the remote, karl's book, a few pens, their coasters. he does his best to avoid the shattered glass, though manages to unintentionally wet his hand in the flower water. "see, look, i can fix it," he rushes.
