JUNGKOOK
"Excuse me. I'm looking for the owner, Jeon Jungkook." The small-framed woman stated as she walked into my gym and right up to me.
She looked to be in her mid-fifties and had this air of wealth and sophistication about her, a quiet confidence like she owned the fucking world. I was pretty sure she wasn't interested in a membership.
"I'm Jeon Jungkook. And you are?"
I knew exactly who she was, although, Aria had never shown me so much as one picture of her. She didn't appear much different than how I'd always imagined, nose in the air, shoulders back with her lips pressed into a hard line. She had a lot of nerve showing her face here after what she'd done to my gym only a week ago, but I'd entertain her long enough to find out why she'd graced me with her evil presence.
She smoothed the sides of her hair, perfectly styled in a 'rich lady' bun and cleared her throat as if she was about to make some sort of important announcement. "I'm Seohyun Taylor. I believe you know my daughter Aria."
'I know Aria' was an understatement. In about two weeks, she'd be my wife, and unfortunately, this psycho would become my mother-in-law.
"Oh yes, Mrs. Taylor. What a pleasure to finally meet you." I bowed deeply to her and reached out with both of my hands to shake hers. She only gave me a scrutinizing once-over, her disapproving gaze lingering on my right arm before she offered the tips of her fingers and a limp wrist like I was beneath her.
It didn't matter. I'd already decided long ago that whenever I met her, I was going to kill her negative ass attitude with kindness. So, I turned on my megawatt smile, if for no other reason than to annoy her. "Aria's told me so much about you."
"Oh," was her only response as if she already knew nothing her daughter had ever told me about her was positive. She almost appeared embarrassed or uncomfortable. And she should have been.
"Sooooo, what brings you here? Is there something I can help you with?"
"I believe there is. I was hoping there was someplace we could speak privately?"
"Oh, of course. My office is right this way." I ushered her into my office and closed the door behind us. "Please, have a seat." I gestured to the chair opposite my desk as I sat in the one behind it. She looked down at the chair for a moment, examining it before lifting her eyes back to mine.
"This won't take long, so I'll stand. And since I'm not the type of woman to beat around the bush, I'll get straight to the point. What is it going to take for you to end whatever this is you have going on with my daughter?"
"Oh, are you referring to our relationship?" I asked to clarify, a curve on my lips since I already knew the answer, but she didn't respond. I lifted my gaze and tapped my chin as if I needed to ponder her question before responding. "No longer having breath in my body."
"That could be arranged, Mr. Jeon, but I think this process would be much more enjoyable for you if we did things my way. I'm prepared to reward you quite handsomely." She opened her purse and took out a pen and what appeared to be her checkbook. "How does two billion won sound?"
"Wait." I shook my head incredulously. I knew Aria's mom was a bi- ... uh not nice person, but she was even crazier than I thought. "Is that why you came here? To try to buy me off? With all due respect, Mrs. Taylor, you don't have enough money in your bank account for me to end my relationship with your daughter."
