ARIA

Peering through the peephole, my jaw dropped in utter shock at the sight of Siwon's face when it came into view from behind those red roses. A wave of nausea washed over me, and I could feel my lunch trying to make a reappearance as I fought to keep it down.

"Oh, God... what is he doing here?!"

In a matter of about point five seconds, I'd gone from cloud nine straight to what felt like the pits of hell. He was the last person I wanted or expected to see on my doorstep, and I debated whether or not I even wanted to open the door.

I wasn't prepared to have the conversation I knew we needed to have, and I definitely hadn't planned on having it face to face. I assumed I would have more time to figure things out, like what I wanted to say and how I wanted to approach the situation, since Siwon was supposed to still be in Hong Kong right now, but there he was standing on the other side of my door. So ready or not, it was about to go down.

"RIP to my afterglow" I said to myself as I sighed with an eye roll and swung the door open, walking away without so much as a glance at my unwelcome visitor.

"Hi Princess!"

"What are you doing here, Siwon?" I asked without turning around as I continued into the living room.

"I missed you so much that I took the first flight out this morning to see you."

He was barely across the threshold and was already lying. That was the shit I was no longer willing to put up with, and I definitely wasn't in the mood for his bs after he'd just showed up out of the blue unannounced. By the time he'd finished his statement and set his generic box of roses down, I was already on the couch looking in the other direction.

His tone quickly changed from warm and playful to slightly guarded. "But I see you're still mad at me. Is that why you're here and not at home? And why you didn't go to work today?  I went by your job before I came here and your car wasn't in the parking lot. I was worried.

Worried... that's laughable. I finally turned to look at him for the first time since he'd walked through the door.

"Actually, I'm not mad at all," I stated calmly. "What I am, Siwon, is tired. And anyway, I am home. I've basically been living here for weeks, but you wouldn't know that because you've only been 'home' for about five days over the past month."

He rushed over to kneel in front of where I was sitting and took my hands into his, eyeing me questioningly.

"You moved out? Why? Aria, I know you're upset about Hawaii and the holidays, but I flew all the way here today to try to make it up to you.  Please don't be angry with me."

If he actually knew me or listened to me at all, he'd know that I really wasn't that upset about Hawaii. We had much bigger fish to fry right now, like why he'd been lying to me for who knows how long and entertaining other women when he was supposed to be out of the country.

"Don't be angry?!" I yelled with a sardonic laugh. "Hawaii is the least of our issues. The fact that you can sit here and blatantly lie to my face is what's really pissing me off."

His brows furrowed in confusion at my statement. I could see his wheels turning, trying to figure out what I was talking about as I snatched my hands out of his grasp and got up from the couch to get away from him.

"What do you mean? I'm not lying about anything," he responded, scrambling to his feet.

"Oh really?! Tell me something then. Did you really fly here today, Siwon?  Just for me? Cus you missed me soooooo much?" I questioned, mockingly.
