I blinked my eyes open to another exquisite Hawaiian morning. Golden sunlight spilled through the floor-to-ceiling windows, the air kissed with a hint of salt and warmth. For a moment, I just lay there, listening to the whisper of waves while staring at the faint outline of the ocean shore in the distance beyond the glass doors. It was peaceful, almost surreal, and for a split second, I'd forgotten what day it was.
Then it hit me.
Today was the day. My wedding day. The day I got to marry the love of my life.
The thought sent a soft thrill through me as I rested my hand lightly on my belly. For once, it wasn't the tiny human growing inside me causing this nervous feeling in my stomach, but something much more profound.
Anticipation. Excitement. Overwhelming love.
My man's arm was draped possessively over my waist, his breath soft against my nape, his morning wood nestled perfectly against the crease of my ass. With a contented smile and sigh, I melted into the feel of him. His heat and solid presence made me want to stay wrapped up in this moment just a little longer. I let my eyes drift shut again, savoring this moment for what it was—the last morning we'd wake up as fiancée and fiancé.
In a few hours, we'd be husband and wife.
This wasn't the location we'd originally planned, but somehow, it felt like the day we were always meant to have. There was just something about the air and the energy here that made everything feel heightened—like every sensation had been turned up to full volume—making Hawaii feel like the perfect place to start our forever. No elaborate plans or details. Just me, my love, and the lifelong commitment we were making to each other today.
Just then, Jungkook's grip tightened around me, his lips, lazy and unhurried, tracing the bare skin of my shoulder, pressing slow, open-mouthed kisses that made me shiver before I was even fully awake. I didn't have to turn over to know he was looking at me with that look. He'd probably been watching me sleep, just waiting to pounce on me again the second I stirred.
I bit my lip at the thought.
I couldn't tell if it was our upcoming nuptials, the baby, or this beautiful island and the way the ocean breeze wrapped around us, the way time felt slower and more indulgent. Or maybe it was just us, or a combination of everything, but whatever it was, Jungkook had been ravenous—touching me and tasting me every chance he got. I'd lost count of how many times I'd woken up, even in the middle of the night, to his hands and lips on me, ready to take me again.
And I wasn't mad at it either.
I just woke up in paradise, on my wedding day no less, with the man of my dreams literally attached to me, just waiting for the opportunity to make love to me again. I'd say I was winning at life right now. I mean, sure my husband-to-be may have been wearing my ass out, while his offspring was already kicking my ass in the energy department. Between the two of them, I was exhausted and napping daily.
