"My sister may not want me telling you all of this, but it may make more sense about what I said earlier." Soma began after everyone settled in their seats.

Soma took in a deep breath and slowly let it out as he began his story.

"It was about ten years ago... when my twin sister Hikari went missing and changed into a shell of the little sister I once knew..."

🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪

It was a sunny day and the snow was falling slowly onto the ground. It was about mid November in the Sumire-Dori shopping district and everyone was buzzing around as they started getting ready to the upcoming holidays. Around this time, the most popular diner in the shopping district was getting ready to receive a whole bunch of customers wanting to taste their daily specials before Thanksgiving.

"Joichiro! Another special over here!" A customer shouted with a smile on his face.

"You got it! Hikari, Soma, think you can handle that?" Joichiro asked his five year old children.

The twins looked up at their father and smiled.

"You got it!" They both shouted.

Soma quickly got started braising the meat while his sister helped with the fried rice. The special of the day was a beef steak with fried rice, one of their specialties. It was done in less than three minutes and was quickly presented to the customer, who was not disappointed.

"You're welcome!" The twins shouted as they smiled and ran back to the kitchen.

The Yukihira twins had been given much praise since they started helping out in the diner. Ever since the two were three years old, they had been learning the art of cooking, grabbing whatever information they could get their little hands on.

Though the twins were recognized as great chefs in training, each of the two were recognized for their individual talents and techniques.

Soma was known to be very unpredictable, much like his father. He would constantly create new dishes on the spot, most of them would be awful, but once in a while he was spot-on with his food, making everyone drool with every bite of the dish.

Hikari, though much like her brother in the art of unpredictability, used her enhanced senses to bring out the best flavors of the food. Her incredible hearing, smell, vision, touch and taste earned her the title Heaven's Senses, for the way that your senses shook to your core whenever you ate her food. It was a sensation that made you shake and all of your senses would rattled, almost as if the food was gifted with Heaven's blessing.

Soma and Hikari were attached to the hip, staying close no matter where they went. They were also each other's rivals, trying to best each other in food battles whenever they could. Their parents found it amusing that their twin children were always fighting against each other in the kitchen, but in their home, they would never raise their voices at each other.

After the shop was closed for the night, Hikari did her normal routine. She would always go take a bath and work on desensitizing herself, calming her body until her senses were numb enough for her to sleep properly through the night. Though her senses were strong, they were manageable for the time being, and she quickly found a way for her senses to be dulled through warmth and relaxation. After about thirty minutes of her sitting in the warm bath, she could feel the warmth of the water, but it didn't burn her. It had worked yet again.

While she was in the bath, the rest of her family helped sound proof the house. They laid down soft carpet in the halls so that Hikari wouldn't feel the harsh wood, closed all the windows so the cold wind wouldn't come rushing in, and made sure that the twins' room was warm enough so her senses would relax through the night.
